A sweet, dainty bar shoe in which you could realistically dance like a ballerina, this softinos slip-on is available in three muted colourways; navy (900422-000), red (900422-001) and denim (900422-005). Ock 900422 is perfect for casual, comfy everyday wear. The curvaceous shape of the Ock shoe flows fluidly round your feet, creating a soft, supple, glove-like fit. This is in part due to the flawless elasticity of the leather upper and in part due to the flexibility of its white rubber sole unit which seals around the leather upper, creating an air and watertight barrier. Securing the 900422 pumps to your feet and creating that distinct Mary Jane style, is a broad band of cotton-stretch elastic that wraps diagonally across the top of your feet. This is attached to the inside of the shoe but is eluded to on the otherwise plain and uncluttered upper by an outline of contrast coloured stitching. Despite being flat pumps with only a 1cm thick sole, the spongy, textile insole to this shoe creates a cushioned and comfortable foundation. Who we are and how is it that we came to be so passionate about shoes?
Like many classics our story revolves around one or two ambitious pioneers, a love affair, war, a family drama, conflict and its resolution. What laces this story together is a connection with the land, and a need to provide for the people of it.
Let’s set the scene of how our business was born. It’s 1905 and Thomas Rogerson sits concentrating over his tools in a shed at the end of a bridge in Rothbury. Motivated by the desire to win the hand of Isabelle, he needs to learn a trade. And so it was that he learnt to repair shepherd’s boots.
Skip forward over 100 years from this humble beginning, and here we are; from robust, carefully crafted tackety boots designed to tackle the heather hilltops, to on-trend trainers in a spectrum of colours, designed to tackle the concrete jungle! Originally sold under canvas at agricultural shows, by mail order or taken directly to farms. Now, displayed using bright light boxes in our high street stores, or sold via easy on-line orders that will arrive at your door.

Our mission now is to stock a vibrant and compelling choice of shoes, boots, sandals, slippers and bags. Made using traditional and progressive manufacturing techniques and a wide range of materials from Gore-Tex to vegetable tanned leathers, our selection is diverse. Ranging from fun, quirky, edgy and joyful designs, to sophisticated classics, to practical waterproof adventure shoes and boots for enjoying the hills.
Different from other footwear retailers in terms of the breadth of our range, we stock many styles that are unique to our business, including colour combinations, prints and lasts. Prioritising pricing, quality and comfort we work on the principle that well-made shoes wear better, are more of a pleasure to wear, and ultimately, are less wasteful.

The Rogerson’s ethos is one of positivity, and we aim to employ happy people who enjoy their work and convey this in their attitude to others. With weekly training on everything from leather, construction techniques and technical features, our staff aim to facilitate a friendly and efficient shopping experience and will go out of their way to bring you all the shoes you fancy trying on! Alternatively, one of our 120 strong team of keen beans will carefully parcel them up for your online orders. We dispatch from both our central warehouse in the pretty town of Peebles, and from our 13 busy stores across Scotland.
