Weber® Performer® Deluxe Gourmet GBS®, 57cm Barbecue
Introduced in 2013, the Weber® Performer® Deluxe Gourmet GBS® can only be described as the ‘ultimate’ charcoal barbecue.
With all the best features of the high-spec Master-Touch® – including a stainless steel Gourmet BBQ System® (GBS®) grate, the Weber® Performer® Deluxe manages to offer even more with additional features including a gas ignition system, backlit LCD cooking timer, painted metal work surface, 3 tool holders and a versatile multi-functional cart.
Starting with the kettle itself, the bowl and lid are fully porcelain-enamelled to ensure protection against fire, rust and the elements and are all made to last which is why Weber® confidently offer a 10-year warranty on them.
In addition to a weather-proof handle with protective heat shield the Weber® Performer® Deluxe lid also contains an integrated thermometer and a rust-proof aluminium vent to control temperature and air flow for perfect barbecuing.
Set deep into the cart, the bowl of the Performer® Deluxe is fitted with a Tuck-Away lid holder which acts as both a convenient rack to retain the lid as you tend to your food and a handy windbreak. At the base of the bowl Weber® include the advanced stainless steel One-Touch® cleaning system and removable ash catcher to make cleaning and maintenance of the kettle even easier and more effective.
Simply by sliding the lever protruding from the One-Touch® cleaning system three angled blades attached internally to the base of the kettle rotate to ‘sweep’ the ash through the drainage holes into the rust-proof removable ash catching bucket saving time and preventing mess.
Internally, the 57cm kettle comes with a genius stainless steel Gourmet BBQ System® grate as standard which has a removable 30cm centrepiece to allow you to attach a number of compatible accessories including a Dutch Oven, wok, pizza stone and griddle (all sold separately) offering you no end of cooking possibilities.
Besides the versatility the 57cm Gourmet BBQ System® grate offers, it also has an impressive 2552cm² total cooking area which is more than sufficient for a family or group of friends to enjoy a hassle-free garden party or all-year round alfresco get-together.
In addition to a generous 65x52cm (3380cm²) painted metal work surface the Weber® Performer® Deluxe Gourmet GBS® cart is bursting with all kinds of features to make your barbecuing experience easy and hassle-free.
Three tool holders on the front of the cart sit adjacent to a hinged control panel which houses a removable LCD cook timer and lifts to reveal the gas ignition switch and gas bottle housing.
Underneath the work surface is a convenient weatherproof CharBin for quick and hygienic disposal of waste material to prevent litter falling onto the ground or blowing around the garden.
For ease of portability the Performer® Deluxe has two logoed all-weather wheels under the kettle and two locking castors at the opposite end under the CharBin. A full-length stainless steel wire shelf just above the wheels adds extra rigidity to the unit as well as offering good storage space for food, charcoal and accessories.
Included with the Weber® Performer® Deluxe Gourmet GBS® are two Char-Basket fuel holders (useful to help position charcoal in the kettle for greater control during direct or indirect grilling) as well as one large disposable drip tray.
Also, the Performer® Deluxe comes with a useful charcoal measuring cup which will help keep the amount of briquettes used consistent and in-turn the temperature controlled, meaning perfectly cooked food every time!
