The ZETAPLUS Smart Module is a plug-and-play radio communications solution featuring simple SPI and UART (LV RS232) interfaces. With just a few connections for power, communication, and antenna, users can quickly start sending and receiving data without the need for additional external components.
Thanks to its highly tuned on-board RF matching network, the ZETAPLUS outperforms competing modules, achieving a range that exceeds expectations given its power output and consumption.
Additional features include 64-byte TX/RX FIFOs, preamble detection, a sync word detector, and CRC handling, all of which help reduce current consumption and enable the use of lower-cost system MCUs. The module also provides access to an integrated 11-bit ADC for monitoring battery voltage, simplifying low battery detection in designs.
The ZETAPLUS Smart Module boasts a form factor of 16mm x 18mm and offers a range of up to 2 km with a transmit power of +13 dBm and high sensitivity of -116 dBm at 2.4 kbps. It supports a maximum data rate of 500 kbps and operates within a voltage range of 1.8V to 3.6V, consuming low power with a standby current of just 0.5 nA, 10 mA in receive mode, and 18 mA during transmission at 10 dBm.
The module features a 64-byte FIFO buffer, an integrated battery voltage sensor, and is based on Silicon Labs’ Si4455 chipset. It requires no configuration or external components, making it a fast and effective plug-and-play solution for RF communications. The ZETAPLUS is available in 433, 868, and 915 MHz frequency options.

The device is not a simple plug and play device and needs a fair bit of coding to make it run. RF suggested a terminal emulator to run it , which it did , but the "#" function it uses was very confusing to sort out. The Emulator would lock up from time to time too or not release the USB port on occasion -adding to confusion!! The board will not run with the likes of "putty" RF need to supply a few examples of code to run it. I'll be buying more because it is embedded in my product.

Good Afternoon Mr Hammond, Thank you for your comments, we are developing an evaluation board to support integration of this RF module, we also have a USB dongle and RF sniffer to aid development. We recommend Google’s Terminal.exe emulator because it’s the only one we have found to be truly transparent. Great little module. Very easy to get going over the UART, good documentation. Only downside was UART is limited to 56kbps, which is slower than the maximum over air baud rate. SPI would be fine.
