The customer support team at RF Solutions provided me with excellent guidance on which units I needed for my very remote application where being able to configure the box to optimise battery life is very important. The unit is well made and proved easy to install, configure and commission and has worked faultlessly even close to the edge of the published range.

This is a quality manufactured product. The only criticism is the name of it. We had a client that needed to monitor a fire door if it was being used, this was a high-end apartment block, with no easy way to get a cable to the door. We used a battery-powered Exit door alarm unit which then trigger the Bogeybox. This was received by Trap 4, which then triggered an alarm unit to notify staff the door had been opened. It worked a treat! So other than the name of the unit, we already have other projects that we would use this for in conjunction with the Trap 4

The transmitter has a serious weak point if used in conjunction with motion sensors (wired output): Most motion sensors have only a NC-alarm output. The transmitter however has normally open inputs, so one would have to place a suitable converter relais in-between. I also would suggest that the transmitter should transmit over a period of e.g. 5 seconds to make sure that receivers really got the message. To keep the transmitter transmitting as long as the input is closed might not be applicable in many cases.

Good Day, Thank you for your review, it is very much appreciated. The weak point you have suggested is actually something the product has been designed to overcome. The BOGEYBOARD and BOGEYBOX transmitters both have 2 modes of operation. Continual transmit and the state change mode. The state change functionality will allow the transmitters to be used in a mode where the transmitter sends a pulse to the receiver on state change. If you have the transmitter in state change mode and the receiver in momentary mode with the NC terminals wired to your output it will work exactly as you have requested. We can also customise the units to a specific requirement if you have an application you would like the product changing for. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
