hi, thought id hit on a good deal, by going back to saga, how wrong can u be, got my in insurance from them on 15/04/15, pay in full two bikes, no problem,,ha, got a letter from them about two weeks later . telling me ,if I do not send proof of no claims ,my insurance would be stopped, so got in touch with my last insurance, that company could not be too helpful, sent a letter of proof to me , I sent on to saga,, here it comes, saga still cancelled my insurance, saga told me ,letter did not reach them in time, lost all the money plus no insurance, saga told me, we do not do refunds,

Tortuous, time consuming procedure. All verbal , with no written quote or alternatives for perusal. No clear definition of what the headings / questions mean and so difficult to finalise proper details (being all-verbal means definitions and alternatives are not offered and the buyer therefore has to interogate the seller. There is therefore a high probability that there will be incorrect data which might lead to it being invalid. In particular, the overnight parking being street, garage, drive-in - it is not clear how to insure a vehicle that is garaged half the time and drive-in half the time partucularly if the garage is not attached to the house. Telephone assurances are meaningless, and there is no written record of those assurances. Be very wary of the lack of transparency and openness.

Disappointed that Saga quoted me a high renewal and a much lower price on line for starting all over again as new business. This does not endear you to organisations and leaves you with no sense of loyalty.

Being a "silverback", I have my wife's and my car insured with Saga and found them to be competitively priced and reactive when I made a claim a few years ago. So thought I'd give them a chance of quoting for the bike. The price and policy features matched or exceeded my previous policy.

Not having had a motorcycle insurance for 40 years was not surprised that premium was higher than wanted even though I have not been responsible for any car insurance claims in that time. Biggest disappointment was the fact that although kept off road and away from main roads the fact that my garage, which is well built wooden structure and secured by multiple locks and the motorcycle is padlocked when not in use, the insurance does not cover me for theft when on my property or locked in the garage. I think that that clause is unreasonable, especially as the Isle of Wight is an island and vehicle theft is not straight forward as the would be thieves have to leave the island by ferry.
