“I bought the 14" modern vintage head very recently to compare it to the Remo fiberskyn and Remo Skyntone heads (for small jazz combo work). This Aquarian head has more of a hard & plasticky sound in my opinion, not as warm as the Remos. On the plus side, the coating is dense and makes brushwork loud. So, not great as a subtle, warm & sensitive head, but a good choice for gigs involving some brushwork that needs to cut through eg Big Band, live Country gigs etc.”
