Controlling marestail / horsetail with SBK and KPlus+
It is highly recommended that you use the adjuvant KPlus combined with SBK to enable the triclopyr to break down the silica outer layer of the horsetail and increases its ability to penetrate into the weed achieving greater results.
For marestail/horsetail control, it may be necessary to retreat several times to eradicate the extensive underground root system.  Once applied, do not cut or roll the treated weed.  Allow the plant to wither and die completely before removing dead plant material.

Excellent product does what it says. I had a lawn that was more mares tail than grass. Sprayed the area and nothing seemed to happen until a light rain shower about a week after spraying. During the next week, the mare's tail above ground died off and whent to dust. I then dug up the lawn to approximately two spade depths Nearly all the stems and roots under the ground had turned black and died off with only a few exceptions.

Marestail is rife where I live. After a bit of research, I found SBK. I applied it as instructed and the results could be seen within an hour. After about 2 weeks, the weed was definitely dead. The area treated remained free of weeds for months. I rarely recommend anything, but this stuff really works.

Seemed to work really well on the Mare's Tails in my garden. Unfortunately, I only found out about this product late in the season so did not have chance to do a second treatment which was needed as not all died. Not sure whether this was because of the product or because of new growth. Would definitely recommend, however.

So far so good. I'd give it 5 stars if the Marestail doesn't come back any time soon. I'm astonished at how well it's worked. Just given 2nd application because of new growth. I won't be confident until next summer however that it's really taken effect!

After using the SBK brushwood killer with KPLUS to kill the mares tail in my lawn, the lawn now is free from the dreaded stuff, so I can recommend the product from progreen as it does work.
