JUST WHAT WEED WANTED

I have only used my weedwiper once but I did not find it at all easy and I am dubious whether any of the treated bracken will die. It was very hard to adjust the rate at which fluid passed out of the reservoir and the nylon wick never seemed to get properly wet. The bracken fronds kept getting caught in the wick and the only way I could apply the herbicide effectively was by holding the bracken in one hand and wiping with the weedwiper in the other hand. This was awkward on the sloping site where I was working. If I tried to wipe the weeds without holding the bracken it was just pushed away by the weed wiper. The cost of the weedwiper including delivery was over £50, for what is effectively just a few bits of plastic. I think that's expensive. I'm disappointed with my purchase.

Hi Andrew - sorry to hear you are disappointed with your purchase. Weedwipers are suitable for many situations and allow a high load herbicide to be applied directly to the weed with no danger of drift to neighbouring plants. They are gravity fed and so work best when held downwards and preferably on smaller leaved plants where pressure can be applied. Although we’ve had no feedback on difficulty applying on bracken we are aware that plant size, shape and terrain can all influence the ease of application. If you would like any further advice - please do not hesitate to contact us. Thanks - The ProGreen Team

More of a dropper than a wiper!

Hi Keith, thanks for leaving a review. The weedwiper is an excellent product to avoid drift or overspray – many of our customers use it for narrow beds & borders. It is a simple, gravity-fed tool so some drips may occur but we suggest holding it upside down when not in use or carrying it in a bucket between weed areas.
