Blooming marvellous stuff. The more you pull this horsetail weed, the more it grows. But this chemical within HOURS has just started turning it brown and although it seems rain got to it after a couple of hours and I probably didn't get the concentrate to litre mix quite right, its still worked. Just needs a little bit of a round 2 session next weekend. I am so flipping grateful for the ability pro green has given to kill this horrendous weed off once and for all!

It definitely killed/burned off the top of the mares tail. But sadly it started to come back. It was treated after the removal of the top parts were dead. Then a couple of weeks later again. But 4 weeks later there is new growth. Not impressed especially when the area has been saturated during the very warm weather and had plenty of time to dry without interruption from rain.

Dear Margaret, thanks for your feedback. We rarely get complaints on this product as it is the best solution for Horsetail/Marestail that you can buy. We can normally trace a disappointing result to a previous incorrect treatment of the weed, or an application issue. Therefore, a few points to consider. Firstly, Marestail is a prolific weed, capable of reproducing from segmented roots, stems and also from seeds and sporulation! Any previous physical removal of the weed eg pulling, chopping, cultivating will result in multiplying the problem by increasing the number of viable roots and shoots in the soil. Secondly, spraying before the weed reaches 8-10 inches tall will only kill the top, not the root – this could be what has happened with yours? Finally, it may be necessary to retreat several times to eradicate all parts of the plant, because some rhizomes (underground roots) go into a dormant phase in a very mature, thick colony and will only produce leaf when the first cover of shoots has been removed. I am assuming your mix concentration was also correct, but happy to run through with you. In summary, if you have a severe problem, you will need a number of well timed treatments to fix it. If applied correctly, the regrowth you see should only be from new plants, not previously sprayed ones. Please call us if you have any further questions, and rest assured, you can eradicate the weed with correct treatments. Thanks, The ProGreen Team.

Having bought this product before they changed the main ingredient due to legistration I was very impressed with it. It did exactly what it said it would and got rid of my mares tails problem. I'm putting my faith in Progreen that this new preparation is as good as before. BUZZ.
