“Very effective against both Box caterpillar and Conifer mite. After one application and a 2 week wait Box caterpillar numbers were decimated and only a few new caterpillars were present. Conifer mite was harder to gauge, blanket sprayed and it seemed effective against active areas but new areas did appear a few weeks later and so a subsequent spot treatment was required. I am happy and will be using them again. My results are not the most scientific. Just do not buy too much as only a small amount is needed per sprayer tank.”

“Not as good as what is replaced my bushes around my house are getting very brown and this is not controlling the insects at all”

Thankyou for feeding back your opinion of Decis, Peter. Decis incorporates the active ingredient which is known to work across a broad selection of insects and was the same as in the former product you mention. Conifer aphid is difficult to control for a number of reasons: the target pest is very small, it hides amongst foliage which can be tightly packed together and not least because where the hedge has gone brown is signs of their prior activity – not current location. The concerted move away from the authorities approving systemic insecticides (apply once per season) means, more than ever, application procedure is key to successfully controlling insect pests.
