For control of the larval stages of black vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus) present in soil or container-grown crops Contains the beneficial nematode Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (82%) and an inert carrier with water (18%) For coverage guide, please see attachment within "Tech Info" tab or click HERE to open Directions for use:• Remove all fine filters (50 mesh or smaller) from the application equipment.• Partly fill the tank with cool, clean water. Start the agitator and keep running until application is completed.• Empty one tray into a bucket and add a minimum of 10 litres water.• Stir the contents thoroughly making sure the entire product is mixed.• Add nematode suspension into the tank through its sieve.• Fill tank to the required water level.• Apply dose immediately to the whole crop at the appropriate rate.• Irrigate immediately after application to disperse nematodes into the soil; do not irrigate to cause run offfrom the tops of pots. Knapsack sprayer (suitable for 50 million packs only): Make up stock solution; suspend one 50 million tray of Seeka® in 10 litres water in a clean graduated bucket. Agitate the stock solution and dilute as follows: • For open soil use 1 part stock solution + 19 parts water.• For pots/containers use 1 part stock solution + 39 parts water.• Keep solution agitated and apply immediately. Dosing unit application (Suitable for 50 and 250 million packs):• Set injection rate on dosing unit (normally 1%).• Considering the injection rate, area to treat, and recommended rates, calculate number of nematodes and volume of water required in concentrate bucket. Make up concentrate solution of nematodes in the calculated volume of water. Mix thoroughly to ensure that the nematodes are well dispersed. NOTE: If the solution is too viscous add an additional known volume of water and adjust the injection rate accordingly.• Start application ensuring the correct volume of water is being applied per unit area. Throughout application ensure that the nematode solution remains agitated. Drip irrigation application:• Repeatedly rotate through irrigation blocks in field.• Allow enough time for nematodes to reach intended area of crop.• Flush system with enough water to wash nematodes out of irrigation pipes.• Consult your supplier to determine suitability of your drip irrigation system. Application conditions For optimum results:• Treatment should be applied when black vine weevil larvae and pupae are present.• Soil or media temperatures should be between 12°C and 30°C for at least two weeks after application.• The soil or media should be moist.• Routinely treat new material coming onto the nursery that may contain black vine weevil larvae.• If product is applied over foliage, irrigate immediately with water to wash the nematodes into the soil.• Drench application: preferred method, especially where crop canopy is dense.• Strawberry application: drench each plant individually, direct application around the base of each plant avoiding run off. Precautions• Agitate nematodes constantly during application.• Do not use product if past expiry date or incorrectly stored.• For information relating to which chemicals are compatible with Seeka® ask your distributor.• Once opened, use each entire tray immediately (do not sub-divide or store opened packs or mixed suspension).• Seeka® persists for approximately four weeks; larvae emerging from eggs laid after this time may be poorly controlled.• Seeka® will not control black vine weevil adults.• Do not exceed 300 psi/20 bar/2000 kPa pump pressure.• Nozzle aperture should be greater than 0.5 mm• Suitable nozzles should produce a medium or coarser spray at the intended application pressure. As this is a live product, we organise direct delivery from the manufacturer direct to our customer in "cool-pak" packaging.
