Replaced by DUR193Makita DUR181Z 18v LXT Cordless Grass Line Trimmer Strimmer Body Only
The DUR181 string trimmer has been developed as a lightweight 260mm (10-1/4") Cordless grass trimmer, powered by a single Makita 18v lithium-ion battery. Featuring a well balanced tool design with angle adjustable cutting head for home gardening.
Sold as body only. Batteries & chargers are sold separately.
FEATURES

Well balanced tool design - The battery position is located under the main handle, exactly at the place that plays a role of pivot point when the tool is swung like a pendulum for grass cutting. The battery is therefore not swung around to minimize user’s fatigue
Easy to change spool assembly - Nylon cord can be fed from the spool by bumping the bump feed button against the ground
5 position adjustable pivoting head enables user to adjust cutting angle, allowing for trimming in tight spaces
Battery capacity warning lamp alerts the user when the battery is running low or empty
Adjustable loop-handle can be adjusted according to user's height and working posture
Spool assembly is easy to attach and remove, also easy to rewind. It comes equipped with a metal bump feed button for wear resistance

Very easy to put together with only 3 screws needed (all provided), plug the battery in and then you're good to go. Comes with a spare cord as well once you get to that. I used it on some really long grass in stages, and it handled it really well. My first battery was only half charged and you can really feel the difference between that and a full one. Still did the job but I didn't get the full benefit until I stuck the fully charged battery in. Really good and easy to use.

Had a corded strimmer in the past which was a complete pain to use whilst trying not to cut through the cord, and useless as well since the line kept breaking and the feeding process was awful and time consuming. This time I decided to go cordless and since I already had a Makita combi drill with BL1830B (18V 3.0Ah) batteries, decided a Makita cordless strimmer was the one to go for. A couple of places were coming up with low prices, but power tool world had the best customer reviews on an independent review site. Item was delivered promptly. Can’t comment on customer service as nothing has gone wrong. If you compare power tool world with the price this item goes for in other well-known high street stores, it has to be considered a bargain (Which was a bit of a worry, because quite often these ‘bargains’ are nothing of the sort). The Makita has performed faultlessly (once I got my technique right). I got two 20-minute sessions from mine before a recharge/different battery was required. I’m very happy with my purchase. Oh, the feed button is good and the line supplied is durable.

Excellent product easy to use, only downside I can’t use it on its side to trim grass verges, unless it does and I haven’t found it yet!!!! Highly recommend
