The Makita LXT DUH523 is a useful cordless hedge cutter packed with great features. It has a unique anti-vibration system with 5 dampers to greatly reduce the amount of vibration to the operator which eases the hedge cutting process. It has the ability to change blade without dissembling the housing. Powered by a single Makita 18v lithium-ion battery.

“I bought this as I needed a hedge trimmer for occasional use and I already have another Makita 18v cordless tool. I was a little concerned that it might be under-powered or have a short run-time on the 3Ah battery that I have. Not at all: with a little patience it cuts through slim branches up to about 20mm diameter and I completed a very overgrown beech hedge in our garden (approx. 10m long by 3m high) with one recharge. And as Makita batteries charge in only 30-40 minutes that was perfect for a tea break from hedge trimming! A good value well-made functional tool for domestic use.”

“Powerful professional kit. Makes light work of thicker stems that most other trimmers can't handle. Well balanced in use and safety switch combination ensures it can't run unless held with two hands. Takes a few minutes to get used to safety switch combination but it's not difficult. Battery life - seems to go on for hours with intermittent use. Very happy I chose the Makita.”
