The Makita LXT DUH523 is a useful cordless hedge cutter packed with great features. It has a unique anti-vibration system with 5 dampers to greatly reduce the amount of vibration to the operator which eases the hedge cutting process. It has the ability to change blade without dissembling the housing. Powered by a single Makita 18v lithium-ion battery.

“Really great bit of kit. I thought when I tested it being so quiet it would lack power, but I was very surprised. It easily tackled our fur trees on one 3amp battery.”

“I bought this hedge trimmer because I already had some Makita power tools and knew that the quality was good and the products durable. Parts are easily available. The battery from my cordless drill fitted and the ease of a cord free trimmer appealed to me. For less than £80 the trimmer performed well stopping only at thicker branches and stems where secateurs or lopping shears would be needed. Also not having to buy a battery made this a cheaper purchase. All in all a good buy not a chain-saw but I never expected it to be!”

“This trimmer met my high expectations for Makita products after having bought an excellent impact driver, the hedge trimmer did not disappoint. One issue was that the safety features are impractical with a safety button and two different triggers needing to be pushed to operate. I soon got a cramp in my left wrist from depressing the safety trigger on the top handle. Once I had taped this into a permanent "on" position it was much easier to use - even one handed and I still had to do 2 separate things to make it go so it was safe enough like that.”
