The Makita LXT DUH523 is a useful cordless hedge cutter packed with great features. It has a unique anti-vibration system with 5 dampers to greatly reduce the amount of vibration to the operator which eases the hedge cutting process. It has the ability to change blade without dissembling the housing. Powered by a single Makita 18v lithium-ion battery.

“A great little hedge cutter, although I would suggest for home use only. Not up to rigorous heavy work. I had a 36v one before which was far more robust. That one is used in landscape gardening now. I bought the 18v one as I am now 80 and it is a lot lighter to use.”

“Very sharp, gets through small stuff very easily. Thicker branches are more of a challenge, it’ll go through them eventually but the result is pretty messy. Pretty easy on batteries and it’s nice & quiet.”

“Exceptionally good for privet hedges. Gives a nice clean cut and is very light weight and easy to use despite me been left handed ( which can be a bit awkward on some power tools).”
