This chainsaw really is the dogs danglers... I wasn't expecting it to be half as good as it is... Its as good, if not better than my petrol one....

Pretty impressed by how long the batteries lasted, I was only working in the garden though. I can imagine being more put out if I was working remote and needed to recharge batteries. I have a couple of sets of batteries so i'm pretty sure it's not going to an issue, as long as I'm organised. I thought the blade might be a bit short, but I cut a large log (some sort of pine type) into thin rounds and it was pretty much the diameter of the chain bar length, and it cut them, but sometimes it felt like it was a struggle, so I don't think I'll be getting a longer chain bar for it. The chainsaw is reasonable in most aspects, not massively heavy, not too loud. I did find that it went though a fair amount of chain oil, but what do I know? The chain oil that comes in the box only lasted the same as two fully charged 5.0Ah batteries.

Excellent chainsaw! I use 2 5Volt batteries and the DUC353Z cuts through dried Oak branches and trunks easily. Its also very quiet. I intend buying another set of batteries and a dual charger so that I don't have to wait 45 mins for batteries to charge after each use. Still, 45 minutes recharge isn't bad. It cuts a lot on one charge. Also, it is environmentally friendly.

Absolutely brilliant tool. So quiet and relatively light compared to my old petrol saw. Cuts through 200mm trunks and logs easily. I thought it might lack a bit of power but not one little bit with the excellent Makita 18v batteries.

This is no Toy. I wanted a chainsaw to cut a large hedge down with trunks 8inchrs thick. It cuts easily through anything. I removed some tree stumps and cut the roots off no problem. I might need a new chain as I have given it some hard work. I used good quality engine oil in the tank for lube. I also had the batteries and charger as I use makita tools. Highly recommend
