I've had this set for a couple of months now. The build quality of the both combi drill and impact driver is excellent. Both are reasonably light weight and ahve inbuilt LED lights to light up drilling area. The drill has variable trigger speed as well as lots of 'set' speeds and hammer or standard drill setting. The battery life particularly on the impact driver sees me through the whole day. The drill may need a quick charge if you are doing a lot of drilling. Drill is great for wood and good for masonry. It would also cope well with thin cold rolled steel (though not designed for drilling thick steels beams). The charger even makes a musical tune when the battery is charged! It typically charges in under 30 mins to full charge so you can charge during a tea break. Good service and price for Power Tool World.

Its a great price and good kit. Fast charge refills the battery in the time it takes to make and drink a cup of tea. The impact driver has loads of torque. The only minor quibble, and it is minor, the clam shell mold must be a bit worn as there's a small amount of play in the handle part if you really squeeze. I would buy another in a heart beat.

For me Makita has always been a sign of quality and years ago I had a Makita drill/driver which I used professionally in theatre, and then at home when I changed career. When it eventually gave up I wasn't in a position to buy a new one so bought a cheaper one. It was ok as long as you didn't want a replacement battery or wanted to do more than a little bit without recharging, and certainly wasn't a patch on my previous Makita one. When it gave up I had a couple of projects on the go and had to get a replacement and settled on this pair. More than happy; two solid, but not too heavy, bits of kit and v powerful. Never had an impact driver before - what a difference when putting in 3" screws! A really useful touch is the LED light - especially useful for working in dark corners. Batteries seem to go on and on, and v quick to charge - indicators are good too. The case is a nice addition, keeps it all tidy. Overall very impressed and now looking to expand, next need will be an angle grinder but now in position to buy 'body only'.
