It’s powered by two 18V LXT batteries for maximum power and run time, but without leaving the 18V LXT battery platform. The Makita-built motor delivers 3,600 RPM and the mower offers ease-of-use features including quick height adjustments, a 50 Litre capacity grass collector, and a full 430mm (17") cutting width. Using two 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries (sold separately), the MAKITA DLM431Z delivers up to 30 minutes of run time.

“Brilliant mower... bad design with the grass collector tho. Why design it to fold, would be better with a solid opening for fitting to mower? Flexi plastic at the bottom broke first time I used it, using a cable tie cut short to guide it onto machine!”

“Needed a mower for areas robot mower cannot reach, namely roadside verge and small lawn with snowdrops. However have had to use for complete lawn 1/4 acre, 1000m2 for several weeks prior to arrival of robot. Took 3-4 battery charges to do this (5Ahr batteries) so wouldn't recommend for this area of grass,. However it did leave a good finish and pick up grass well. Has worked really well on verge (75m x 3m wide), this grass is steeply sloped and light mower is much easier to use and much safer than petrol, also much quieter so easier to hear road traffic. Very convenient to adjust cutting height. Only issue is trickiness of attaching grass box which can be fiddly, but not a game changer. Overall v content with purchase.”

“Fantastic mower, it's light, it starts on the button, it's quiet and not such a big investment especially if you already run Makita 18v kit. I'm never going back to petrol unless I have a much bigger garden for which a tractor is more sensible. With two 6ah batteries this is just able to cut my 336m2 lawn (28mx12m) with a single pair of batteries taking off a 3cm cut. My only real gripe is the collector bag is small. Mowing once a week minimum is the key with this mower”

“All my powertools are makita so it made sense to buy a makita lawnmower 36v, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as my corded machine but it is as good if not better, although not recommended for long grass it cuts my large lawns without flattening the 2x 5.5 amp hr batts”
