Makita DHS680Z 18v Brushless Circular Saw 165mm Body Only
The DHS680 is Makita's first brushless circular saw, which becomes one of the latest member of Makita's impressive line up of 18v Lithium-ion cordless tools. Boasting a brand new brushless motor and some new in-built features, the DHS680 looks set to become one of the most popular cordless circular saws on the market.
Sold as body only. Batteries and chargers are sold separately.
FEATURES

Highly efficient brushless motor, that has several benefits over the non brushed equivalent. Firstly, because their are no brushes within the motor, none of the battery power is wasted on creating the heat and friction that happens when using brushes, so consequently the battery lasts longer (per charge) and the energy created by the battery is far more efficient, allowing your tool to achieve higher capacities, so this saw will be able to cut longer, faster and into tougher materials
Another benefit of the brushless motor is that, because there are no moving/touching parts in the motor there is nothing wearing away at anything else and getting damaged. Your motor is actually going to be kept in far better condition than before
One more impressive new feature is the 'Automatic Speed Control' found on this saw. This feature allows the computer chip built into the saw to determine the most efficient cutting speed for the job that you're doing! It speeds up or reduces the speed of the saw making sure that it only uses the right amount of energy when required - making sure you get the most out of your saw, blade and battery
Another handy new feature is the battery state indicator which uses 3 LED lights to illuminate the amount of battery charge you have left so you'll never be caught without power just when you need it
Soft start for smooth start-up
Tool hanger allows you to hang the saw when not in use
Blower function blows sawdust off cutting line
Larger base than similar models that gives a more stable operation
Electronic current limiter for overload protection
Large lock off lever for ultimate safety
The twin LED job light ensures full visibility of the work piece
The Ergonomic soft grip and overall compact & lightweight design gives the user full control and comfort
Guide rail adaptor available separately 196953-0

I bought another!! yes I was greatly impressed by this little cordless saw I bought another. Its use along with the other out on the job site has saved me no end of time and faffing about. It cuts well, even the 50 mm thick timber, but will tire out your batteries if your using it for joist cutting. For flooring sheets and all sheet timber goods its a great saw, with the capabilities for bevel cuts to 48 degrees and a clear view of the blade while following your pencil line.

Brilliant saw, relatively light and very easy to keep on the straight, doesn't chew the batteries too much. Have cut through 12mm plywood and 20mm oak with no problems, very clean cut.

I bought this brushless & cordless circular saw as I simply 'wanted it' to go with the rest of my 18V Makita tool collection ...not because I really 'needed it' considering I already have a corded Bosch circular saw which is a little bigger and pretty powerful and have never given me any cause for complaint. No regrets whatsoever - this Makita runs like a dream, is light, easy to use and cuts beautifully. The quality of the cut and the ease of handling the saw really make it stand out. You'll have no issues cutting sheet timber or studs up to 2 inches thick and the battery power is more than enough. My only hesitation to give this review 5 stars is due to the saw being surprisingly plasticy and light weight. A couple of the adjustment levers could have been metal rather than plastic but the saw holds up well and I have no complaints at all. I would definitely recommend.
