Makita DHP481Z 18v LXT Brushless Combi Drill Body Only
The Makita DHP481 LXT combi drill is powered by an 18v lithium-ion battery and the brushless motor enables up to twice the run-time of traditional motors. This two-speed drill will run up to 2,100rpm in high gear and 550rpm in low. It will deliver 31,500 impacts per minute in high gear and 8,250 impacts per minute in low gear. The 13mm single sleeve keyless chuck enables 16mm capacity in masonry, 13mm in steel and a massive 76mm in timber. Torque can be adjusted to 21 alternative settings and has a dedicated drilling mode. The DHP481 will generate 60Nm of fastening torque (soft joint) and between 115-125Nm (hard joint), the highest torque yet from the Makita 18v range.
There are twin LED job lights with afterglow once the variable speed trigger is released and a new side handle configuration gives light tool control. Coupled with the soft grip ergonomic handle design positive drill-driver capability is assured. It weighs just 2.7kg, and is more compact (20mm shorter) than the previous BHP458 model. Batteries and charger sold separately.

Used this model of Makita drill at work and was very impressed, so much so I bought one for my home diy projects. Soon as you pick it up you can feel the build quality. This model has handled every job with ease and has so much power. Way more than my old drills. I’ve been replacing my old battery powered tools bit by bit, and love the fact Makita has a huge range of products that use the same batteries.

This drill can only be described as incredible. Despite being cordless, there is absolutely no degradation of power even when drilling into concrete. It is a total game changer and I am delighted with my purchase. Highly recommended, as is Power Tool World as the supplier whose customer service had been first class.

This drill is great - much more powerful than the basic model I had before (which I was always happy with).

Very powerful drill for size. Purchased as I like to have two drills and last one burnt out after 7 years. If this last the same amount of time considering I use them every day I can't complain and would recommend. If I was going to make a comment it is heavy compared to my last but you are paying for quality. Can't comment on battery life (Use 4 & 5ah) as it hasn't run out of charge yet.
