I'm quite disappointed by this sander. Makita products are usually excellent but, whilst this is well built, it seems very underpowered. It's hard to believe it is rotating at the speeds quoted because the over whelming impression you get when you turn it on is that it has 3 speeds - slow, very slow and "is it working?" Every corded sander I've had outperforms the Makita by a country mile. It does work and I have used it to sand a large board, which it did well but slowly, and it is convenient not to be trailing a cable, but I don't think it's going to be my go to sander. Also, not much of the dust arrived in the dust bag but there was plenty on the board. btw There are reviews on YouTube that say the same thing about the lack of power so the unit isn't faulty. I didn't even consider looking for reviews because Makita's stuff is always excellent. Lesson learned - make that usually.
