Precautions for using the BCL715G lithium-ion battery

This battery is for use only with this version of the NR90. Use with other tools may cause the tool not to operate correctly.
Be sure to remove the battery when the tool is not in use
If the battery is attached to the nailer for 12 hours or more, the battery's output will be automatically shut off due to the built in Auto Power OFF feature for the purpose of reducing battery consumption. In this event, the tool will not operate when the trigger is pulled, but this is not a malfunction.
In the event of Auto Power OFF, to make the tool usable again, detach and reattach the battery. If the tool still doesn't operate, the battery is likely empty and will need re-charging.
The battery cannot be charged if its temperature is below 0 degrees, or higher than 50 degrees.

This is a good nailer but has a two minor niggles. Occasionally it will fire two nails at once and the battery can be difficult to remove from the gun. That said it did the job I brought it for.

A superb piece of kit very easy to use and is extremely well made. Having used many nail guns in the past this is the one I would recommend tough enough to withstand hours and hours of use at a time.

I had a huge fencing job to do and needed a descent nail gun. I spent a long time looking at different nail guns, reading reviews etc and ultimately what the nail gun offered and reliability/versatility. I needed to keep costs down too. So I looked at guns at the very top of the range and the very bottom. This HiKOKI (Hitachi) nail gun was everything and more than I could have hoped for. I shout-in over 3,500 nails in 3 days. The gun was easy to use, certainly not heavy using it for 4-5 hours a day and battery life and gas canister endurance was pretty much exactly as described by manufacturer. I used 2x gas canisters (I’m only just into using the third to finish) but I e been switching from 50mm (80%) and 90mm for the rest. Ease of use loading. The gun doesn’t like running down to the last handful of nails loaded but I found putting a full strip in plus I’d tear a third +/- from another and load that too, this gave me a full magazine of nails and switching from 50mm to 90mm was only a matter of dropping nails out and putting new larger/smaller ones in. Battery life was great and the gun has a flashing (& solid) LED that flashes green or red to indicate ready to fire and battery status. I found you can still fire 60+ nails on red without any dramas. Note: if you stop for a brew, the battery is still running down so best tip if you’ve got a lot of nailing to do is remove the battery if you down tools for any length of time, like cutting wood etc. Life itself I found to be around 3-4 hours of nailing and with the gun set down, battery in, whilst I moved and cut timber. Charge time was an easy hour solid if you ran it down to ‘red’ on the LED indicator. No miss-fires, the only thing I found was about three occasions where at the very end of one strip and the next strip, at the end, the gun put two nails in. Didn’t affect timber, gun performance or myself do not bothered personally. Setting depth is a breeze with a 4mm Allen key. Gas canister installation is simple and if you’ve finished just pull it out, pull the top seal back out again (you push it in to install and use!) and it won’t leak gas. Hard carry case is great and I bought the cleaning kit as well - if you’re spending £300+ you might as well spend another £17 and get a kit to look after it! Nails and 2x gas canisters supplies in each box were excellent and overall this nail gun has been an absolute gem! I’d happily recommend it to anyone and I’m looking forward to the next jobs I’ve got lined up. Overall I don’t see why you’d spend £800+ on anything else if you’re not a tradesman and even if you are, once you suds out the way to use this gun, endurance for gas and battery life, how many nails to fill etc I’d keep the money in my pocket and get this nailer. So glad I didn’t go cheap with a compressor hose etc. Service and P&P by Powertool World was excellent too.
