Unit was faulty, vibration was so severe my hands hurt. Motor seized up after 10 minutes use of the saw. Powertool refunded me in full with no hassle, with collection by DPD at no cost to me. I presume that there was a manufacturing fault as all the rest of the deWalt kit I have bought is of great quality. may look to buying the brushless version of the saw in the future as the speed control should be better - judging how my brushless drill performs, this saw was crawl or full blast which might be why it shook to bits?

I have quite a few DEWALT tools which makes it easy to interchange batteries. My first job for the saw was to cut up an old hardwood bay window. The saw struggled with this & had less power than my £60.00 electric saw. I have since used it in the garden and been surprised how effective it has been for cutting branches & cutting fire wood. In summary, it’s well made, needs to be used with 5/6 amp batteries & easy to change blades. Just lacks a bit of power - hence losing a star.

I bought this to replace an old B&D Scorpion. It's more powerful, more versatile, but a bit of a brute – I'm still getting used to it and learning the best ways (via different blades and use of the shoe) to make neat, clean cuts.
