Bosch state that their CoolPack technology increases the working life of these lithium-ion batteries by up to 100% against standard lithium-ion batteries in the market. Can be used across the full range of 18v Bosch professional power tools.

“I recently purchased the 5Ah Bosch 18v li-ion after a couple of my old batteries died. They both overheated on a particularly punishing job and wouldn’t charge again. The 5Ah is good value for money and lasts a long time. From recent research I found out that the 5Ah battery still has the 18650 cells, which are fairly old technology now. In hindsight, I should have gone for the Pro-Core series. The Pro-Core use the new 21700 cells. These are far more robust, charge better, and have better heat characteristics.”

“super fast delivery, just drilled 32, 60mm holes in 12mm wood for spotlights in the garage. power indicator not moved. still full of charge. will have to put it on charge in 2021, possibly.”
