“Ordered on a Tuesday evening and it came on Thursday the same week. The light was well packaged and easy to install and it looks absolutely brilliant in our bedroom. We went with one of the suggested lightbulbs and it’s perfect. This is our second purchase from Pooky and we have never been disappointed with the service or product. Highly recommended to our friends and family.”

“Love this light. Quite unusual. Hadn’t realised before but it makes fantastic ray patterns on the ceiling too. Best with clear bulb and the one supplied is not too bright in my opinion ( an earlier reviewer would disagree). Not 5 stars because it came packaged in a huge lump of polystyrene, not very eco friendly, and having to cut it up to fit in our non recyclables bin resulted in bits of polystyrene everywhere and one cut fingers (! The last bit not Pooky’s fault). A glass pendant ordered from another supplier came wrapped in shredded cardboard so it can be done.”

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to review your Pooky Product, we are so gla too hear that you love this light and the effect that it gives off. We do try and think carefully and act responsibly about how we can play our part in minimising the impact we have from an environmental point of view. We only use LED bulbs, we only sell LED bulbs to our customers, and we continually work with our suppliers to try and minimise the amount of packaging we use. Mostly, we use un-coated cardboard which is fully recyclable in the UK recycling centres. However, we do send glass and ceramics by courier and we use polystyrene to try and minimise breakages. There’s a difficult balance. If we use too much, it’s wasteful and our customers protest. If we don’t use enough, then products break which is arguably far more environmentally impactful (more raw materials, more energy required to manufacture, more shipping and further packaging). The slightly frustrating thing is that expanded polystyrene is in fact recyclable but not very many councils currently provide the facility. In polystyrene's defence, whilst it does not compost, it is fairly inert - it does not leach chemicals or other poisonous substances. Best wishes, Felicity
