“After my previous favourite sealer product disappeared from the market I used PB product descriptions to choose a replacement. I was impressed by durability and performance in choosing SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax.
For performance it didn't disappoint - very glossy and hydrophobic. For durability - we'll have to wait and see. Curiously, PB rates it 18 month but the package says 12 month; they're probably both right, I've no idea how you measure it and it is very environment sensitive.
I have two disappointments. The product comes in a round tin with a round foam applicator - fine on large expanses of paintwork but hopeless in the many corners. Squeeze the foam to get into the corners and it deposits a globule of white wax. Taking note of the warning on the tin to keep it off rubber, glass, etc and you're forever cleaning up!
Secondly, it is a white waxy compound which fills all the bodywork panel crevasses with a dry white compound which is difficult and time consuming to remove. They offer one for light paintwork and one for dark and I chose the light one, but on mid-range blue paint it gave me lots of unwanted work!
Next time I'll go back to my colourless liquid and use my home-made rectangular applicator.
In summary - results great, usability poor.”
Hi Peter, thanks for your review. Based on our own experience we rate the durability as 9+ months, which is not far off the 12 months claimed by SOFT99. As per the how to use advice we publish, we agree that the supplied applicator pad isn't the best, as it tends to lay down too much product. This explains why you struggled with residue in the panel gaps; when the product is applied thinly using a finer foam pad, the issues you encountered do not arise. If you fancy giving it another try at some point we recommend using an Auto Finesse Waxmate XL to apply it. Alternatively, a liquid version of this product is available (Fusso Coat F7), which you may prefer in light of your past experience. We hope this helps!
“Nice finish - but a little difficult to apply thin coat evenly in cooler temperature . Also, need to work quickly to remove as it hazes and requires more effort to remove . It may have been the cooler air temps . Otherwise, a nice wax.”
