“Bought the Rupes LK 900 Mille after reading a lot of positive reviews. It is not a cheap machine and is more than likely to attract the serious pro detailer or those with that desire to perfect that really bad swirled out car that other machines would not have the ability to achieve the end product.
I payed the extra for the Delux kit which in my opinion is well worth the extra. The large Rupes bag provides room for spare pads, pockets for the yellow fine polish 250ml and the aggressive Blue course cut polish 250ml. You get a claw brush which I used regularly to clean off spent polish and you get 4 colour coded quality microfibre towels. As well included is 808 sealant and a protective bib, a six inch additional backing plate and two foam pads and two wool pads, one being the coarse blue pad and the yellow polishi pad.
So to the Machine its self, it is well made and feels pure quality, it is heavier than the Rupes DA 15 Kk 1 I own but totally in a different league.
Being a disabled detailer I was concerned about the additional weight but found it nothing to worry about once I used it. Zero bogging down like the Mk1 and is smooth and quieter but still worth wearing ear plugs!
The synergy of the colour coded pads and polishes work in harmony and I'm not saying you can't use other products of course, but Rupes have fine tuned the polishes for the pads and they work! You need to be aware in is a short throw machine and this is one reason the control is far better and user friendly, saying that you must prime each pad totally as if you leave any dry spots then the machine looses its smoothness and especially with the blue foam it wants to control you instead of you it!
Clean pad often with the claw brush to get rid of spent product. I purchased the extra fine pads and polish for that extra paint pop!
The trigger is responsive as is the large dial and you can hear and feel instantly the increase in torque and power as required. The two white resting pads are a welcome touch to provide a stable platform when resting the machine temporarily.
No overheating and the front venting and additional venting in the base plate seems to work well. Even though you have a smaller throw this machine is able to do effective swirl and scratch removal with less passes than my old Mk1! I always use a paint thickness gauge and you need to be on top your game as this forced rotation machine is powerful and you can remove clear coat quickly if over enthusiastic! To conclude I'm not disappointed with the Mille, in fact I'm delighted, the extra long lead is well overdue and really gets rid of the extension lead. The machine came with the smaller plate fitted and comes with the changeable six inch base plate to have that option. Not sure how I feel about the fact you have screws to replace the base plates, hope there will be no issues there.
If you are thinking about getting a Flex 3401, forget it, the Mille is a beast and you won't be disappointed!! The guys at Polished Bliss arectop notch and with their point system makes this a great deal.”
