Hi Peter, thanks for your feedback. We're sorry the information about the backing plate size wasn't completely clear; we did mention it being of a fixed-size type in the We Say section, but looking at it again it's easily missed so we will try to make this clearer in future (probably by introducing an 'Interchangeable Backing Plate' line in the Specification section). However, you should note that no long-throw polishers that we are aware of accept both 75 mm and 125 mm backing plates (because the counterweight has to be weighted for one or the other), so it's highly unlikely you would have found a satisfactory alternative. What you were seeking, while the norm for older short-throw machines, isn't yet found on modern long-throw models. We hope this helps!
