Hi Aaron, we usually always leave a little bit of play on the threads to allow the fitting to be adjusted to the trigger handle. If you tighten an adjustable spanner diagonally over the lugs you should be able to gently tighten it a quarter of a turn - this should result in the bottle sitting upright for you when fitted.
