“This item has long been a thorn in my side. At least in my boiler (an Ideal Mexico HE30), it has a tendency to corrode, interfering with the flame sense current with the result that I have regularly had to take it out to clean it off before my boiler would light. I can only attribute this to use of an inferior alloy for the flame probe itself. On this occasion I bit the bullet and bought a brand new one in the hope that it will last a bit longer, but experience does not make me sanguine. Because of the damage to the item as received, and the lack of response from the supplier when I reported it, I've had to reuse the existing gasket, which is not ideal”
