Sparkle and bulleye were made to feel very welcome, bowls and treats left in the room with an letter addressed to them, stati g house rules Water bowls and towels left at entrance doors which were very nice touch after a long walk (there are plenty of lovely walks around) We were disappointed that the dogs weren't allowed in the brasserie or in the conservatory, (we didn't expect them to be allowed in the main restaurant) There is a lovely lounge (dog loung) we're you can sit and enjoy a drink etc, this is were we ended up eating our meals, the problem with this was there was no dining tables only small side tables, but as we had no other option we made the best of the situation, we choose to do this and leave the dogs in the room because on the letter addressed to bulleye and sparkle it staed barking wasn't allowed so we didn't want them getting in trouble We paid an extra £7 each morning for room service so we could have our breakfast in room due to lack of tables downstairs, We did manage to get a drink in the bar area with the dogs but only because nobody else was present, (they are not allowed in there really) We went into the nearby village were the dogs were made very welcome in the local pub, bulleye and sparkle were very well behaved, so much so we were welcomed back the next day , wh

I took my whippet Joey for a 1 night stay at the Devonshire Arms, booking through Pets Pyjamas. The booking process was so easy, the advisor on the phone couldn’t have been more helpful and informative. The stay itself was absolutely perfect! Again, staff couldn’t have been more helpful and made us feel so welcome. The hotel is in such a lovely location, very picturesque and handy for a pooch that loves the outdoors. The room we were shown too was great, very spacious and had everything we needed - including some lovely freebies for both Joey and I! Lots of facilities to cater for those bringing their dog(s) - beds and bowls should you need them and you can even leave your dog(s) at reception while you have a bite to eat. I visited the spa for a lovely facial. Again, staff were great and clearly knew what they were talking about when it came to products they were using and recommended a bespoke facial based on my skin type. Unfortunately I didn’t want to leave Joey too long so didn’t experience the pool/sauna/rest of the spa. I ordered room service whilst there as Joey’s a bit too clingy for me to leave for too long and the food was gorgeous, really enjoyed it. Overall, I really cannot fault our trip - all the way through from booking to the stay itself!

Our dog received a very warm welcome and there were plenty of lounge areas we could use & great walks right from the hotel.

So relaxing to be in a dog friendly welcoming hotel. The Reception staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Our 2 goldendoodles had an amazing time as the hotel is in beautiful countryside - perfect for long walks and the spa was great for me to relax in after the hike! Food was outstanding - in particular the tasting menu.

This is a beautiful hotel is the perfect setting. We had some lovely long walks and the food is the best we’ve ever had. The only thing I wasn’t expecting is there is not a dog concierge - it is two dog beds in reception with chains that the reception staff look after. If I had known it wasn’t going to be a proper dog concierge, separate room at least, we would not have selected this hotel so pets pyjamas might want to change this in the advertising. This was not really suitable for a 6 month old puppy and couldn’t leave him in the room either. The hotel staff were really accommodating of us eating diner in the dog lounge instead of the Restaurant so we could have Storm with us. Yes this place is dog friendly and the staff were lovely but it is for dogs a little older that can relax in the room alone for a while. Puppies need supervision and that is on us, but as I said I thought there was a facility for this. We still had a fantastic time and enjoyed the spa and diner.

I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow dog owners. It caters wonderfully for dogs with dog beds and creche service in reception, towels in the entrance for muddy paws and plenty of walks straight out of the front door. We were also looked after with friendly staff, excellent food, wine and a comfortable room.
