“2 night stay. Very warm and welcoming staff and excellent service at breakfast which was lovely. Apparently the hotel is due a major make over. We hope they maintain their dog friendly approach.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Staff were lovely when we arrived. In the evening they set up a table in the library for us as the conservatory was quite cold

“Lovey warm welcome for us and our dog. Room was clean, spacious with a great view of the lake”

“We loved the Powder Mills. It has so much to commend it - I loved seeing all the dogs sitting at their owners' feet, a whole dog society thing going on. Pugs, poodles, bulldogs, mutts. Love grounds and a lake for walking your dog. Food was great, room was lovely.”

“Lots of lovely walks through the grounds and around the lakes. All the staff were very efficient and friendly. My room was really clean and bed very comfortable I slept well. I ate in the pleasant Bar area as I had my dog with me. My only little niggle the menu didn't change, the food was good but quite expensive. Nothing really to complain about. I'll be back.”

“This hotel is very relaxing and the surroundings are wonderful. Right next to a lake and with loads of green space it’s perfect to go with your dog. There’s so many areas to chill and rest around and the staff are truly wonderful. The breakfast included is great, home baked croissants, salmon and so many different options. The restaurant is also great, we ended up having dinner there every day because the food is amazing and it’s so relaxing having dinner outside overlooking the pool. The downside of this hotel is the rooms are a little outdated so the mattress or the pressure in the shower weren’t great. There’s no aircon either so in a hot night we needed the windows wide open and the fan always on otherwise our room would be a bit of an oven. I think we were particularly unlucky because with the position of our room was right in an inverted corner there wasn’t a lot of breeze coming in. We went in the middle of the summer with great weather so I’m sure in the winter this will play in favour of that room.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? If you wish to stay at the Powder Mills I would strongly advise booking direct. The prices will be cheaper & there will be no confusion as to your requirements

“There is nothing wrong with the Powder Mills hotel, & they happily accommodate (note, I haven't said 'welcome') pets. Our request to Pets Pajamas for an easy access i.e. ground floor room for my wife & I & two labradors seemingly fell on deaf ears. On arrival we were directed up two flights of stairs & along a corridor to our "Executive double" room. The room had direct access to the outside however one had to use the stairs to enter & exit the hotel (for luggage etc.) I explained that this would not be suitable for us & was not what we had requested. Consequently we were offered a ground floor "standard" room which the hotel website described as being suitable for a couple & one dog - hence for us it was a little cramped. To be honest the room looked a little tired & could have done with a good clean; whether this is representative of the hotel's other rooms or whether we offered the only suitable room available is debatable. Nowhere in the hotel was there evidence of an affiliation with Pets Pajamas; previous bookings we have made in other hotels we have received a welcome pack, the offer of towels & a dog bed if we needed them. I have passed my concerns to Pets Pajamas (with a request for a refund) & await their response.”
