Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Our stay at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel was just perfect, thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.
My partner and I have recently returned home from a three day break at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel with our four-legged family dog Dougie. What a wonderful experience this was. On arrival, the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and gave us plenty of information on local walks and places to visit. The hotel staff were very efficient, polite and friendly with a great service provided. This was our first time staying in a hotel with our dog, as we normally book into self-catering accommodation ... staying at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel is a complete game changer. Our room was on the ground floor and was very clean and tidy. We opted for early check-in, which gave us a chance to visit Dryburgh Abbey, a few minutes' walk away. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel every day, as we were visited Melrose, Jedburgh and Berwick-upon-Tweed during the day and had a light lunch in dog-friendly coffee shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend Dryburgh Abbey Hotel to anyone looking to book a dog-friendly holiday. Thank you so very much for such an enjoyable stay. We will be back!

I often travel with my dog and hotels may be good but are, in my opinion, rarely excelllent when travelling with dogs. I think Dryburgh Abbey was the best yet. They have ground floor rooms just off the reception area for people travelling with dogs, areas where the dogs are welcome and clearly identifiable reas where they arent. Your dog can be with you as you eat, drink and relax. The location on the banks of the Tweed provided some great walks bothon the doorstep or a little further afield.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? No EV charger but not a show stopper
Had an amazing few days at this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the dogs were certainly made a huge fuss over which they loved. The breakfast was excellent, and the room was very comfortable. The grounds were excellent the Merlin & Cindy absolutely loved running around and exploring. We will returning in the not too distant future.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Very dog friendly even in the dining room which makes a change
Had a lovely night away with our wee dog. Very chilled out atmosphere, warm log fire out in the lounge made for cosy feeling to a large area. Evening meal and breakfast were lovely. Nice selection at both meals.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We'd like the hotel to think more about the dogs welcome policy. Yes, it's great that you make rooms available for dog owners to bring their dog with them, but please think carefully about the planning and layout of the rooms. This would make us feel far more welcome and more comfortable.
The building and its appearance gives a sense of grandeur and solidity. Unfortunately this does not continue once inside where the hotel is tired, faded and in need of modernisation and redecoration. The 'dogs welcome' is somewhat misleading... generally dogs are allowed but we and our dog were made to feel a nuisance, particularly in the bistro restaurant where no concessions were made for us to sit on a table 'out of the way' where our young dog would have been far more settled. The room had far too much furniture (some totally unnecessary) for its size, quite how we were supposed to add the dog, its crate, feeding stuff and other equipment was beyond us. The furniture and decor (if you can call 1 tiny faded dull print and some curtains decor?) in the room were shabby, mismatched and outdated. The bathroom had cracked floor tiles, damaged wall above the toilet and black stained areas around the bath and shower attachment. On a positive note, the grounds are attractive and there is outdoor seating available. Also the cooked breakfast was excellent, congratulations to the chef, plus a good selection of fruits and cereals available to help yourself to. The staff here were friendly and helpful in stark contrast to those in the Abbey Bistro.
