This hotel is ideal for families with dogs & children. We didn't have children with us, but I have never stayed in a hotel that caters so much for kids. There was a massive kiddies room that had loads of toys, games etc, child sitting service & a cinema too. We did have our 2 dogs with us & they are very welcome too

A perfect place for a stress free trip away with our pampered pup, Bea. The main house is lovely and everything has a nice comfortable lived in feel that allowed us to relax. Meals with pets are taken away from the main dining room and this was blissful as it made for a much more private and relaxed experience. The ground we’re stunning and there is a ton of walking and scenery to enjoy.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We could not possibly recommend this hotel and feel cheated as far as the substantial cost is concerned.
This was an hugely disappointing experience. We had the only room in the hotel with a walk in shower which, you would think, suggested easy access was important. The room could only be accessed via 11 steep steps. The room's furniture was shabby and the bedroom lacked a dressing table. The curtains were shredding with age. The plumbing was in dire need of attention - the toilet struggled to flush, scalding hot water came out of the cold tap, on most occasions and hot water also filled the toilet cistern. The famous walk in shower lacked any form of hot water adjustment and was anything from scalding hot, to cold, to lukewarm- all in one shower experience. Each mealtime we had to ask for the table in the very shabby dining room to be set and the service in the drawing room was not benefitted by being some distance from the main dining room. Having said all that and feeling very much that the hotel is immensely overpriced, the staff were delightful, if often untrained, and the food was very good, although half the time it was lukewarm- presumably due to a combination of being forgotten and being a distance from the kitchen and Mail dining room.. the staff were delightful towards our two dogs.

We had the absolute best time at The Ickworth! My partner and I came with our pup Flora for her third birthday—she had an absolute blast, from the big dog bed and goody bag in the room to the Happy Birthday song and gifts from resident pup Peaches! The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay really special. We went on wonderful walks in the National Park grounds and the reception staff even looked after Flora so we could take a look round Ickworth House. We stayed two nights and ate breakfast and dinner there each day as well as enjoying an afternoon tea. The food was impeccable, and the service was fantastic. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful but a little tired in places. The bedroom could have done with a little modernisation, like the old windows. But it also had a great deal of charming character. We honestly just had the best time and would return again in a heartbeat. Thank you to the whole team!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Improvements needed with regards to catering and room service. Friendly and lovely staff who love dogs! We spent close to ÂŁ1k for a 2 night stay with breakfast included.
Spent two days with hubby and dog. Friendly staff who meant well but struggled with the volume of guests staying during our visit. Dog didn’t seem to mind but dog menu unclear with no one able to explain prices. Food was good and varied menu but I wouldn’t recommend breakfast as quality was more service station. Asked for toast but got untoasted crust! Training needed in this aspect. Room was clean and cosy with dog bed. The grounds are breathtaking and the walks made up for it! Would recommend overall as we had a lovely time just don’t set your expectations too high.

The staff are superb. They went out of their way to make us and the two dogs feel welcomed. Our dogs were allowed to join us for meals or could be left in their rooms or even looked after by reception staff!! The location is stunning and the grounds are vast (ideal for dog walking). Dog bowls, biscuits, bedding and blankets were also placed in our room. It was my daughter's 40th birthday and at our evening meal, the chef sent down a plate of small cakes with a message decorated on the plate!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Stay was value but lunch and dinner not at all.
Wonderful and interesting old building. Very good room. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Rowen greyhound was very happy and loved his bed. The lift was a bonus because greyhounds do not do stairs. The hotel in general was very scruffy and dusty which we guessed was because of its age so cleaning lots of it would have been a huge task. Breakfast was very good but other meals were very expensive and only ok, not worth the high prices. The National Trust grounds were amazing for dog walking, we loved it. Communication between Hotel and the National Trust was lacking, so we were very disappointed by not being able to visit Ickworth House as the Hotel was not informed of its closing for training and then for the winter.
