“Hotel a little dated. Staff very pleasant and helpful. When we booked in they had us just as a couple and no dogs so they were kind enough to allocate a room for doggy stays. We ate lunch and had dinner in our room. The room got quite cold and so the hotel supplied a small heater for us. Our doggies throughly enjoyed their stay although we had to travel out to find walks for them. We would do this again but probably ensure walks are on the doorstep or are in reach by foot.”

“Worst hotel we have seen. Stayed an hour and then handed the keys back to reception and left. Would not eat in the bar area, room was run down and overall was basically pub with not very nice rooms. Pictures are deceptive!”

“Great welcome and decor is lovely! The way they treat the doggies is so lovely! the little cute beds and little doggy bag they give them is a really nice touch. The area has some great walks and our Sunday lunch was very nice too. I'll be sure to add this positive review to my doggies instagram page! The only let down was the breakfast but that was quickly rectified with a refund.”

“Quirky hotel that is in need of some TLC. Staff super helpful and very dog friendly. Cosy rooms which lead out to the garden so perfect for us and our Beagle.”

“A very enjoyable relaxing 6 days. Nothing was too much trouble, all staff lovely, our spaniel Ted was treated like a little prince. Delicious breakfasts and we dined on twice, the food was really good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? There is very limited parking- you may be like us and have to pay for parking nearby. There was also no doggy bed/dog toys etc available which was a little sad. The shower also wasn't the warmest or most powerful. I think the areas outside could use a clean up as there were random bits and bobs everywhere.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Breakfast was excellent and generous. Dinner the first night was disappointing. The starters were bland and mains also disappointing. The second night mains were much better .

“Characterful hotel with no silly rules about dogs. It's a bit shabby in parts, but our ground floor room had direct access to a large enclosed lawned garden and was large enough for 2 Airedales and their beds and gear. Large comfortable bed, good sized bathroom and some interesting old furniture. There were some issues, such as the cream tea not available when we arrived at 3.30! Also our room was not cleaned, but staff gave us replacement refreshments. The room was very hot due to heated towel rail that couldn't be switched off. This would be a great problem in warmer weather. An improvement would be less furniture and a small fridge. Also the plumbing needs maintenance.”
