We stayed here for my 50th birthday and we wouldn't go again, as we were disappointed with their customer service. When we arrived there was a queue to check in which took about an hour for about 6 or 7 people. There was a table saying free mince pies but this was empty (it remained empty the whole time we were there and it might have been better to have removed the sign). We finally arrived at our cabin, which was clean and beautifully presented. We had booked through Pets Pyjamas who said there would be dog bowls and treats available in the cabin - there was absolutely nothing. We then realised we didn't have enough towels and there were no robes (which were for use going to and from the external hot tub). We tried calling reception as it was pouring with rain, and the reception was about 10 mins walk up the steep hill, but there was no answer. We were only staying 2 nights which was incredibly expensive being between Christmas and New Year and we just wanted to relax. Eventually I decided to go up to the reception to be told they didn't have 5 robes - they had 3 which they dumped on me to walk back with despite them being very bulky and difficult to carry. I did say at the time this wasn't really the welcome we had expected and the lady at reception said to please let the managers know as they were working flat out at a busy time of year with no support. Eventually they came round with the additional robes and towels. We then decided to order food, which was all organised by Whatsapp which was great but the food was cold and not very nice...plus we thought it was expensive. I would also add that we were asked, when booking, if it was a special occasion and we explained it was a 50th but there was nothing in the cabin with reference to this. I would not have expected anything but once someone asks, you then begin to think they might - so again, don't raise expectations in the first place if you cannot deliver!

Good things - lodge is gorgeous, decor and furnishings were great and the hot tub was wonderful. Very dog friendly, loads of stunning places to explore close by. We went to Croyde Bay and parts of Exmoor. We ate dinner once and breakfast once in the Manor House and both meals were okay and good value if you get the dinner included rate (I would have been an bit disappointed if I’d spent £100 on my dinner which was what our bill came to for two). Bad things - the 2 bed lodges are semi detached with a door in between them which means you can hear everything from next door and our dogs could smell the other dog under the door so they weren’t overly settled. There were young kids next door that were in the hot tub screaming until 10pm and then up at 6am so we didnt feel rested at all after this trip. Also don’t get the scrambled egg!! It was inedible. We did have some issues during our stay - check in should have been 4pm but we weren’t able to check in until 6pm due to linen delays but we were given £25 resort credit. There was no doggy welcome pack provided. The kitchen was absolutely filthy and the dishwasher was still running when we arrived so had minimal utensils/cups etc to use. I mentioned this and they did remove our breakfast charge so although these issues weren’t ideal, I felt they dealt with them well which is all you can ask for really. I would like to go back and give them another chance!

The lodge was lovely, spacious, warm, and well kitted out - we ate in the Cellars restaurant and whilst the service was good, the food was just OK. We were lead to believe from a pets Pyjamas (not at fault here) we could also have lunch is site - despite the Resort's own website, this was not the case. Likewise when we checked out, we expected the £45/person credit against food in Cellars but were told that was never done for those stayin the Lodges - only when I showed them the email from Pets pyjamas saying our deal included this credit was it taken off our bill. There seemed a disconnect with information and a few days later, the resort's website still had the menus for the lunch that didn't exist.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Will not be going back unless fly issue is resolved, other reviews having checked have had similar fly issues, come on moke resort sort this issue out.
Nice lodges, great staff but 3 days of fly infestation in the bedroom not what you want. Resort gave us £50.00 voucher to compensate but they need to sort the problem out.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We mentioned to reception about the confusion over being charged for dinner and George not getting any food. They said they had never heard of pets getting a 3 course meal and as this was a new partnership with Pets Pyjamas that there had been a mix up with the communication. They eventually found the info by which time it was too late and then proceeded to give up 2 wrapped up raw sausages and a small bag of dog treats. They also refunded the cost of dinner. All in all it was a disappointing first use of Pets Pyjamas and I doubt we'll use them again.
We only stayed for a night so difficult to access the whole hotel and the experience of stayingh longer. The check in was smooth and friendly. The room was spacious but the bathroom was small and old with spots of mold around the faucets. Certainlly no 'WOW' factors! Dinner was rather average and whilst the service was fine there was confusion about the payment so we had to pay for dinner and our dog got nothing even though we mentioned that he should be getting a 3 course meal! Breakfast was also disappointing with a very sad looking full Engligh with little effort and just one dried up piece of bacon and sausage. Was told I could't get a flat white as they only did filter coffee and it would take too long to get one from reception. The buffett selection was incredibly bare and uninspiring.

The service was impecible and the services provided were great. The only down side was it felt more geared up for children than the marketing had led us to believe, (sort of centre parks vibe).

lovely peaceful place to stay this was our first visit nice location pool nice and we ate in the dog friendly resturant. When we have gone to a lodge before with a dishwasher they supllied a couple of dishwasher tablets i was okay as i took my owe

Chill out, have fun, enjoy a cocktail and get pampered. We had a fabulous few days away from the craziness of work and the Mole was perfect. ALL the staff were fantastic.!!
