“My wife and I had a fantastic time at Stapleford Park with our lively springer spaniel. A great welcome from the moment we arrived, and shown directly to our room which was large, clean, comfortable and warm. We enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi before a fabulous 3 course meal (and breakfast the following morning). All the staff were great. We will return”

Did you feel your stay was good value for money? no

“On first impressions Stapleford Park is a beautiful and sprawling estate and the house is beautiful, it was very dog friendly but that’s about all the praise I will give it. We had Dinner every night which was a 3 course Al a carte but it was very limited and the food just wasn’t great, it was bland and very small portions and unfortunately my husband got food poisoning the 2nd night from undercooked lamb, I did tell the staff and make them aware and I did expect some sort of apology through money off our drinks bill or something but nothing came to fruition. If you stay here, don’t eat, there was plenty of nearby pubs 10 minutes by car either way.”

“We all loved our stay at Stapleford Park which is in a gorgeous rural setting - everywhere was looking very festive and Christmassy. We were given a nice spacious room with lovely views of sheep grazing in the grounds, Kiki was given a nice comfy bed where she had a quick snooze before supper as she was very tired after our 2 hour circular walk of the Rutland Peninsular (highly recommended). After the humans had a quick swim in the hotel's lovely pool we all had supper together in the bar area where Kiki felt right at home. The following morning we had an hour-long walk through the extensive grounds before a quick stop off at nearby Melton Mowbray for a pork pie lunch before our journey home.”

“The house and setting are amazing. It's nice to stay somewhere a bit more individual. That being said, there were some issues that in a 5-star hotel should not happen: - Not informed of breakfast times at check-in - Didn't receive the Pets in Pajamas pack that was part of the offer - There were cobwebs around the windows - There was a lot of dust on top of the headboard - No table laid in the drawing room for breakfast on Saturday - Took ages to receive the cheese course on Saturday dinner (wondered whether they had to pop to the corner shop?) On the plus side: - Peter the concierge made us feel welcome and helped us with the bags to the room - The room was really spacious and in a quiet area of the hotel with easy access to back stairs for doggy toilets - The breakfast was excellent - The views and the house were amazing”

“The building is amazing, like stepping back in history. The room was huge and comfortable ( although several flights of ( beautifully ornate and carpeted) stairs from the front door (for dog wees)). The lounges were comfy and dog friendly. She was even allowed on the sofa. The restaurant and bar menus were good and breakfast had real freshly squeezed orange juice. The gardens were exceptional, even in November, with lots of places to walk ( some restrictions due to private land immediately in front of the hotel). The greatest asset was the staff. From the reception to the bar/ restaurant, all were friendly, efficient and professional. Made us and our spaniel very welcome. We will return.”

“Stapleford Park was our doggie dream escape! Our dog Steve adored the scenic walks as much as we did. The staff made such a fuss of our dog and made our stay unforgettable. It was luxurious yet cosy and the photos dont do it justice. beautiful”
