Its advertised as dog friendly but we were not allowed to take the dogs to the children's area to play with our kids so had to do everything separate evn though there are separate places in the kids area to keep them away from the actual toys and children playing. We also had to eat in a separate longe and this meant we were secluded and it took ages for us all to get any service. On the first night it took an hour and 30 minutes to get food and we had a small child. On the last night we waited and hour for drinks service, it was appalling and manners cost nothing. We were in a coach house suite that is very dated with heavy stains on the carpet and mould in the bathroom, poor lighting and wardrobes and drawers that dont open. Things were missed with service such as dead flies all over the upstairs windowsill amd heavy stains on the fridge and we constantly had to ask for fresh towels. The hotel were aware we had a baby and we had to request a stair gate as the rooms are not child friendly, this was done efficiently but felt like we were asking too much when requesting this from reception. There needs to be somebody walking round the various lounges and rooms asking if the people are ok and should be some presence as there was very rarely anybody at reception. There was nothing displaying what was on on the area or hotel, just notes saying "ask at reception", however not all of them were friendly and very rarely someone there. The cinema room was a lovely touch and cannot fault that. The food and drinks are overpriced and to add in the bad service 3 stars is probably too much. However Chris and Dan (boy who was off to reading) were very friendly and attentive and probably keep that place going from a service point of view. The place needs a separate bar and this will deal with the slow service. Beware service charge is 12.5% on everything you order, I understand this on dinner service but not on a coffee. There were constant errors on breakfast orders so we ended up going to the local pub for our dinners due the above. On arrival there was also nothing for our dog and we had to ask.

A few hick ups but everything was fine . Nothing that could not be overcome . I have just lost my mother ,we booked this break to visit a dear friend a month ago , So glad we did not cancel .The relaxation sitting by the open fire ,Christmas decorations Soothed my loss .Unfortunately we had the very bad weather ,but our working cocker spaniel had no worries about that ,She very much enjoyed her stay and wore herself out and slept a lot !! Friends joined us one night for diner ,and where just as impressed as us with the food ,the staff where friendly attentive nothing to much trouble . from what we could see children would have a wonderful time here I know my husband enjoyed the pool..

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? When we arrived the receptionist did not stop her conversation with another guest which we felt was discourteous. We had £37.50 each for our evening meal and that would not allow for three courses.
We were only here for two nights . Room was on the first floor, not ideal with two dogs but of acceptable size and amenities. It is a large rambling hotel and has been extensively extended. We did not use the pool or spa. The dining room is lacking in both character and ambience and resembles a cafeteria more than a hotel restaurant. The menu obviously remains for a week and was both expensive and not terribly inviting to our taste. It seemed to cater more for families with young children. The breakfasts offered excellent choice and was very nicely presented.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? A very home from home comfortable hotel. Delicious Restaurant food. A lot of families use this hotel with small children - if you want to avoid this - book in term time and early to mid week.
We spent a couple of nights here recently. The hotel is very dog friendly and welcoming to dogs & their owners. Our two sighthounds made themselves very comfortable in the lounges with one of them using a couple of the sofas - the staff never minded this at all, very refreshing as we have stayed in ‘dog friendly’ places before, both hotels & cottages that claim to be dog friendly but then you are told on arrival that dogs are not allowed on soft furnishings etc. Not the case at Moonfleet Manor. The staff made a lot of fuss of the dogs although they were busy etc. The staff are very attentive and friendly and nothing too much trouble. This is obviously a very family focussed hotel for all family members including your canine friends. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

We recently enjoyed a couple of nights at Moonfleet Manor with our dog, and would happily recommend it - it's a lovely place. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, including to dogs, and the ambience, facilities, food and location are excellent. It's a splendid place for families and those with dogs, but people without either are equally welcome.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? My only negative was lack of places to put things in the bathroom. And the wardrobe was minute, with no drawer space anywhere in the room, so I could not unpack my suitcase.
Believe the reviews? This one is genuine. Our experience of Moonfleet Manor Hotel was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble, our dog was genuinely welcomed and accommodated, and we were made to feel as if we were visiting somebody's home. Breakfasts were generous, wide choices and good quality, service prompt.

Just returned from a short break from Moonfleet Manor and it was really good. First time away with our 3 year old Cockerpoo and I was a little nervous but the whole experience was superb. Lovely attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Families at moonfleet seemed better catered for especially at mealtimes.
Gorgeous location & view from our balcony. Staff very helpful but dinner menu could have had more variety, same choices every night!! Also only 1 or 2 normal tables to eat at with a dog, others low & not good for having meals!
