We arrived a few minutes before the 3 pm booking in time, we went to reception and were told by the receptionist,in no uncertain terms, that we were 10 mins early and to come back later. Fortunately another member of staff overheard the conversation and asked if we would like to wait in the bar area, which we did. We immediately felt that we had made a big mistake booking this hotel. The same person later showed me to the allocated room and whilst indicating where we should take our meals did little to improve our first impressions. In fact the room had not been set up for our dog and it was not until we were speaking with a member of the house keeping team the following day that we realised and she immediately sorted this out, she, like the majority of the staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. Special mention for Josh, in the restaurant, who went out of his way to ensure we had a good experience during our first evening meal and following mornings breakfast. Overall, with the exception of Reception, the staff were very friendly and made our dog feel at home and special. On checking out the bill had to be altered as the original did not reflect our prior payment and booking through Petsinpyjamas.
