We booked this hotel as we were attending the National Dog Show at Stafford County Showground and wanted to explore the area further. The hotel is certainly dog-friendly and very suitable for our purposes. A characterful hotel right in the middle of town and with lots to like. Good to have a lift in an old building. Lovely room with bowls biscuits and beds for our dog. Separate area for dining which was very pleasant but service was rather slow and some dishes under-seasoned. Individually staff were friendly but we did feel overlooked at some meals.

Lovely stay for a few days in March. Very welcoming to our dog, plenty of social areas to sit and eat with our dog. Food was excellent.

Another fabulous night at The Swan. Really comfy, superb food, really lovely happy staff. Jason and Chris were exceptional and even cleaned up when one of our dogs had a vomit in the bar dining area. No fuss at all. Lovely beds for the dogs, a bowl and little bags. All so very thoughtful. Great walks nearby. The perfect place to stay.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Thank you to Rhys from Pets Pyjamas for getting me a good deal and for the recomendations. I've already booked my next break. and
I stayed for four nights with my Yorkie Milo. The hotel is old and full of character, we especially liked the well-designed courtyard which was quiet although it regularley has live entertainment. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. Milo feels vulnerable on a lead, he felt safe wandering in the Swan and everybody made a fuss of him. The food was good, they cooked my favourite breakfast just how I like it. The room was immaculate and the Tea tray was well stocked. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Stafford itself is a nice town. And there was nice little park for your dog
The hotel and staff were amazing. So friendly and nothing too much trouble. Everyone was very friendly and Stanley our dog got so much fuss. Would definitely return. A great few days.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Go a level above Classic Room as they are a little tight on space.
This is a really well run Hotel and yet another Jewel in the Coaching Inns Crown? In many ways, this is really worth a 5 star rating, but just a few tweaks in the menu would definitely see it there, as needed some Fish options for wife and daughter. One thing the Coaching Inns do well is staff training? Our early queries were immediately answered by the lovely Sarah (Assistant Manageress) and her welcome was even stronger!! When she was not on duty, Raven (also Assistant Manager)was equally helpful, with no request seen as too much trouble, along with Bar Manager (sorry, think it was Jason?) and our servers, Christian and Mia. All staff, regardless of rank pulled their weight, running food and tidying up tables where needed. Food was very good; either in the Dining Room or the old Carriage entry, now made into a classy seating area. Only downside apart from lack of menu choice, was that Stafford High Street is pretty run-down and quite noisy at night? A newish area just down from the Hotel has a Lounge and a great pizza restaurant called The Liquor Tank which was superb value and well run by Tom. A 20 minute car drive away was the delightful Shugborough Estate and the equally delightful Canalside walk. Overall, a very pleasant stay in an extremely dog friendly hotel, but best ask for a level above Classic Room, as the extra space is worth paying for if you have two dogs, as we did.

Right in the middle of Stafford with easy parking. Lovely old coaching inn with excellent food and they have space for guests who want to eat with their dog. The room was for visitors with dogs and well used but clean and everything worked. The price was very reasonable and the breakfast magnificent! All three of us were very happy.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? All the meals we had at the swan were delicious served by friendly professional people. Even if you don't stay take your pooch in for coffee or a meal.
Alfie, my dachsund, and I really enjoyed our stay at the swan. They were very welcoming, Alfie had his own dog bed and jar of biscuits in arrival, and a nespresso machine in the room for me. It has victoria a park 5 mins away ideal for Alfie's walks. 5 mins from the shops too.
