Great place to stay . Very dog friendly. Family rooms are small and a constant Dyson A/C unit needed for circulation. Good selection for breakfast in which your dog can dine with you. Small fields for exercising your dog and your supplied with a key for , if required, dog night toilet visits. Evening meals were a hit or miss . However restaurant staff were attentive.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We didn't find our dog friendly room was particularly anything special . Room was clean comfortable with easyAccess to outdoors the room Did have a smeg fridge and really expensive bath products but the room itself wasn’t anything special We agree with other reviews that the hotel needs to change the blue sofa bed which although practical it did look tired and a bit grubby Finally the £35 evening meal allowance each didn’t go very far as the meals were all quite expensive and we often went over the allowance .Having said that the food was amazing and we had the best breakfast ever
Situated directly off the m6 with easy access to the hotel just off the roundabout. Ideally situated to visit other area of the Lake District. The hotel is lovely and clean staff were 100% brilliant and so friendly both to ourselves but more importantly to our little pet Ruby Staff really couldn't have been more welcoming .

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Pets in pyjamas were excellent with dealing with our situation on the same day. Can't thank them enough
Very dog friendly and staff were great but sadly our room was not. The sofa was very badly stained and from reading previous reviews this was mentioned by a previous guest. The hotel was full so unable to move rooms for our second night. The hotel did provide a blanket to cover the sofa at our request but we decided to cut our stay short leaving the next morning.

The Room was overall tidy and clean for the most part but there were several items that required attention to detail (see photos and below). There was a nice dog bed in the room and a single dog bowl we used for the dogs water. Thus was nice and the dog enjoyed it, seemingly. There was a dog towel in the room which was very handy. There was a blue sofa in the room, absolutely covered in marks and stains. Very dirty. I didn't want to touch it, as it made us feel a little ..eugh. Its understandable given its a dog friendly room, but again... attention to detail. The pillows on the bed were terrible, they were empty to the point you might as well have your head on the bed sheet - that said there as positives to the bed - the bed and bedding itself was very warm and comfy. I didn't wake up with a bad back or sore sides and it was comfy to lie on. The rooms are incredibly noisy - you can hear next door talking on both sides, doors slamming at all hours, people talking in corridors and noise outside. We literally heard someone taking a dump at 5am next door and taking a pee. The people were not loud, the room just has no sound proofing. We were unlucky enough to have the milk dispenser outside our room, so the dog was getting set off constantly. When we went to make hot drinks, the cups were dirty and one still even had a full lip stick mark on it. There water dispenser the other end of the corridor and although this doesn't sound like an issue it's a pain making 15 journeys a day with the container. It could use a dispenser at each end of the corridor. The corridors smell nice and like you'd expect of a Spa facility but the carpets were worn and dirty. In the bathroom, the side of the bath was falling off, there was rust all along the curtain rail and the shower curtain was full of stains. The shower head was rusty and and even on the hottest setting the shower water is just slightly beyond warm - not hot. The shower is in a bath and it looked quite outdated, rather than having a walk in shower. But, the White Company shampoo, body lotions and hand washes were really nice. The white bathroom towels were clean and fairly soft, they smelled fresh. The bathrobes supplied, 1 was dirty and the pocket was hanging off the other. We got a replacement from the reception and that one had a pocket ripped half off too. The spa itself - pool was a nice temperate but it was tiny in comparison the amount of customers using it. Not enough space to swim, kids splashing, screaming and shouting. It was not relaxing in that respect. Steam room was a good temperature and had a eucalyptus scent which was good. The jacuzzi was nice and hot but again, anything over 4 people was cramped and invasive - as it was busy for the 2 hours we were in there this was constant. There are only 6 deck chairs, we were lucky enough to get 2. Hot drinks available or water from desk nearby, which was a nice touch and very enjoyable. The breakfasts were 5 out of 5. The dinner the same. The food was great albeit a little expensive for the size of the meals. But the quality was brilliant. We had to ask for a dog sausage as this was not automatically provided. The staff were all really nice, really helpful. 10/10 for the staff. All the staff worked really hard. Really polite, fix anything you ask of them and rectified anything they could. There was a children's birthday party on the Saturday, they kept running around and shouting in the dining area. This was really upsetting everyone's dogs. The staff asked the parents to control the children (in better wording) which helped slightly but they were still a nuisance and it ruined the chilled atmosphere. Hosting a kids party in such a venue seemed a little ridiculous - understandable as money I'm sure is tight there and every penny counts. But, taping off the door would be better, as we didn't go to a relaxing spa hotel to deal with screaming kids. Overall, 3/5. We paid £415 for 2 nights with breakfast. It wasn't worth the money. Perhaps £300 but the only thing that saved it was the staff and food. I'd give it 3.5 stars if the option was available.

We stayed at North Lakes for one night on a journey home from Norfolk. The staff were so friendly and welcoming to Winnie, it made us feel very relaxed. All the little details like the dog bed, towel, biscuit and the extra dog door made the visit a delight. Winnie loved the grounds and the wildflower meadow in particular. Decor in the hotel was characterful and food tasty. We will be back, maybe for longer next time
