“Our overnight stay at The Bowling Green was pawfect from arrival until leaving after breakfast the next day. We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and had been lucky enough to get a free upgrade. A good inspection revealed that our room was very clean, comfortable and cosy. We had an evening meal which was very tasty, I can certainly vouch for the meat in the pie! Breakfast was pawesome! I had my very own bowl of sausage and black pudding! Mumand Dad said that their breakfast was very tasty too. I really hope that Mum and Dad can be persuaded to go back sometime. The Bowling Green is not just dog friendly it is dog welcoming! I give it a 5 paw rating.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The pub is very dog friendly, all the staff seemed like dog lovers and the dogs were welcome in the bar for dinner and at breakfast.

“We stopped over at The Hadley on our way down to Devon. The staff were very friendly, the food was good and the room spacious with comfortable beds. There were some nice walks from the pub to stretch ours and the dogs legs after 5 hours in the car.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? See initial comment. No dog bed, bowl or treat provided for Nell, as she had experienced at the other hotels I had booked.

“When we arrived Nell, our Collie, was not on a lead as she is obedient and will lay down when told to and does not bother other people. If she was not a well socialized I would put her on a lead. Our overly assertive initial greeting from the manager was:" Madam, please put your dog on a lead!" No signs informing people that dogs needed to be on a lead was to be found, I made a point to look. So underwhelmed that we went out immediately after we had checked in. The attitude was, in my opinion, not as expected from one of the signs displayed at the entrance! See attached photo.”

“Fabulous pub/hotel. Lovely staff always doing there best to help. We had an amazing New Year's Eve, the food was fabulous, we couldn't fault anything. Our room was warm and comfortable and very clean. Would definitely stay there again”

“Quaint olde worlde pub in a picture postcard setting. Staff were really friendly and provided an efficient service for our one night stay. Food of exceptional quality - we ate at lunchtime, in the evening and at breakfast the next day. We really appreciated our dog being welcomed in the pub eating area and not shunted off to some side room which we have experienced previously. Only downside was that there was no dog bowl or treats in our room which I thought was part and parcel of the Pets Pyjama booking? Hence the four not the five stars.”
