“The welcome could not have been friendlier for us and our four-legged friends. Finding places that will take two big dogs is not always easy but the Avon Causewaywent above and beyond. The food was excellent with the doggies getting their own breakfast (first). There are some excellent dog walks right on the doorstep which meant the humans could have a well earned beer or two once w]everyone was walked out and no one had to drive home”

“Lovely staff,beautiful food. Very dog friendly place to stay. But be aware some of the rooms are on the small size. Had to ask to be moved the next morning as our room was over the kitchens and next to a huge heating/air duct, that rattled and made noise most of the night preventing sleep. The manageress was great and got our room changed for the next couple of days. The breakfast for both human and doggies is fantastic with lots of choice and being able to mix what you want, eggs superb. Evening meal very nice but tad expensive, but then the whole area is an expensive place. The hotel is set well in the country and within easy reach of all the wonderful places to visit,Mudeford quays lovely Hengistbury heads, Christchurch, the forest. Really enjoyed our stay.”

“The hotel has a friendly, warm welcome for its guests. We enjoyed our short stay. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Our Collie enjoyed being able to join us for meals and gave her breakfast 10 stars! Our room was warm and well-supplied with tea/coffee and toiletries. The bed was comfortable but, overall, we would have appreciated a little more room. Avon Wood with miles of dog walking is directly opposite the hotel and was well appreciated by us. We would certainly consider returning to The Avon Causeway again when we are in the area.”

“My wife and I visited on the 11th with our cockapoo and were delighted that this really was a dog friendly hotel and Peachy really enjoyed meeting lots of friends. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we were made very welcome. All the staff were great and really helpful. One thing that stood out was the kindness they showed to all the dogs who got served their breakfast first. We will definitely be back again soon.”

“I will recommend this hotel to anyone with a dog the best ! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast menu was perfect with a lot of choices your dog will love this breakfast also . 5 paws rating.”

“Firstly the positives, staff service and food excellent. Room allocation for guests with dogs too small to the point of spoiling the break. Also it was not totally dog friendly as dogs not allowed in some areas.”

“Very cosy, warm and dog friendly, the staff were all clearly dog lovers. The hotel is close to Bournemouth and Christchurch, loverly walks all around the area. Big king size bed, in a very nice laid back room, nice bathroom, plenty clean towels and hot water.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I would just like to thank everyone that works there, I got the feeling the team really enjoy working together, they went out of their way to make me feel welcome.

“The people who run The Avon Causeway have put a lot of thought into how to make their guests feel welcome. I was very impressed with everything - lovely rooms, very clean and nicely decorated, high pressure shower with lots of hot water. Plus the little touches - good quality coffee in the room, the way the food in the restaurant was presented, plenty of vegetarian options and an outstanding selection of breakfasts. Very dog friendly - Dusty was made to feel welcome, every morning she was given specially made sausages, which she woofed down!”
