Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? There was some confusion after we made our reservation as the hotel refused the booking as they claimed Pets Pyjamas had not paid them for previous bookings. After a number of phone calls with Pets Pyjamas and emails to the hotel the 'problem' over payments seemed to be resolved and the hotel confirmed we could stay. This event has made us wary of using Pets Pyjamas again as it is not honourable to take a booking charge up front and not pay the hotelier on time. A shame our opinion of the company is tainted now, but we would have no hesitation in visiting Pettifers again in the future.
We enjoyed a nice three day break at Pettifers in a large courtyard room.. The staff were all friendly and we ate there twice in the evening enjoying the Indian menu.

The hotel is very dated. The room had not been cleaned thoroughly. The staff are inexperienced, food orders often incorrect. The restaurant is predominantly Indian food which is not everyone's choice. Would not recommend.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? There is a good sized meadow opposite the hotel, useful for giving the dogs off lead exercise.
Lynne, Frank and Lottie were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had a good sized room in an outside courtyard with table and chairs ,which was very useful for our 2 dogs. A well cooked full English breakfast for us in the morning. With a sausage each for the dogs.

A stay of 4 nights here for me, my wife and our chihuahua was most enjoyable. We had a spacious ground floor room on a small courtyard. Bathroom was also large, as was the walk-in shower. The large electric fan was a boon during our heatwave week. Excellent breakfasts (ask for your dog's sausage (not used by us as the sausage was nearly half the length of our chihuahua Blu). No lunches were available during our weekday stay - not needed by us anyway. Bar opened around 5 p.m., and dinner was served from around 6. Dinner was ordered at the bar and food and drinks bill was settled there daily. A banner facing the road outside advertising pizzas was a bit misleading as the pizza oven in the spacious garden was out of commission it seemed. Staff were very helpful and chatty. Food and drinks were expensive but similar to those charged throughout the region. Dinner menu was not large but covered most needs with some exceptionally good meals. Chefs were happy to tweak items on the menu to suit our needs and tastes. We would definitely stay at Pettifers again.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Absolutely fabulous start to our holiday
Had a lovely stay, staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, Pettifers is extremely dog friendly not just tolerate, our dog was fussed by each member of staff that met her - she loves attention and she certainly had plenty! The food was good and again service was stop on. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. We would certainly return if in the area and recommend to our friends and family.

This hotel needs some TLC - the room we had was a good size however the furniture and whole room were very tired. The whole hotel felt that it needed some care. The staff were good - however they were massively understaffed. The food was back in the 1990s and not in a good way - the chicken in a basket (yes really) was fried and pretty poor. The pizza had far too much salt. Breakfast was also really average - again really salty eggs and teh bacon and sausage were poor. Our shower was very weak and just a simple fo things such as the room not being refreshed overnight - (Im ok with he bed etc not being made but some more tea bags would have been good.) I know its not very pricey - however it felt unloved and very average. The saving grace is the location and the pub just down the road where the food is great.

We stayed for two nights at Pettifers recently for an ok stay but ultimately disappointing. For a start we arrived to a building site and although the contractors were friendly, if we had known I would have booked elsewhere. The breakfasts were the best part of the stay but the GF afternoon tea I requested was lacklustre and the evening meals over priced for what we received from a very limited menu. The bedroom was clean, modern and comfortable but the annexe we were in was next to the building site and there was very little soundproofing from the noisy guests in the rooms around us. We would praise Nico who seemed to be working reception, table service, bar service and the kitchen all at the same time and yet he never let his professionalism and courtesy slip throughout our stay. We wish them all well but we will not be returning to this hotel although we would use Pets pyjamas again in the future.

Room was large & comfy, two poodles had loads of room with wet room. Breakfast was good especially the granola compote. Found the dinner menu, little disappointing but all the staff were friendly & welcoming.
