“The Alma is in a super location and there are beautiful views. There are some great walks nearby and plenty of small towns to visit. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we couldn't fault the cleanliness. Betty, our dog, was also very welcome. We had dinner on both nights - Thursday's was excellent, Friday's not so good.”

“We arrived early to a very warm welcome they allowed us to go to our room straight away they asked us if it was a special occasion it was our birthdays so they upgraded us to a beautiful room the bed was probably the best we have slept in away from home with lots of lovely little touches we have a dog called milo who was also pampered the staff loved him onto our evening meal we had starters which were so tasty and steak for our main course it was absolutely delicious then onto our breakfast we met a delightful lady called eyvonne who was so pleasant she was chatty and smiley and asked if milo wanted a sausage which he duly got our breakfast was amazing piping hot and plentiful probably the best breakfast we have ever had anywhere so good we complimented the young man along with the chef the night previous all in all the staff should be very proud of themselves they make the ALMA INN by there sheer hard work and they made our birthday treat so special everyone needs to go to this establishment we will be returning in the knew year !!!! Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you!!!!!”

“Truly a great experience from check in to the food and whole team our little dog was welcomed and Arthur ( Arturo) was brilliant The menu offering was outstanding and compliments to the chef we would definitely return and highly recommend the Alma Inn”

“Stayed here 27-29 October. Very dog friendly, our dog (labradoodle) was received well and allowed in certain parts of the bar and restaurant. Food was amazing, great menu. Room was nice and clean. Will definitely return. Very well run and great staff”

“The staff were friendly enough and the room was clean and nice. The letdown was the evening meal. They promote the restaurant as 'Award Winning seafood restaurant'. It was truly awful and inedible. At least I wasn't charged for the meal. I suppose it was good once but those were the days. As a B&B very good.”

“Nice looking and clean premises,nice location and all staff in all depts very warm and welcoming ( And " genuinely " dog friendly including dog being allowed to accompany us when dining in evening and at breakfast ) Menu for dinner was extensive and several options for vegetarian wife .Curry I had for main was amazing.Same applied to breakfast . In agreement with other guests we spoke to in morning that slightly expensive menu for what it actually was though and and definitely in agreement with those guests that a very small double room is way over priced at £149 As other guests also noted .there are definitely larger rooms available ,with same comforts for around a third of this price with many large hotel chains Other guests also noted some kind of generator noise from outbuildings immediately next to our rooms . Enjoyed our stay but ourselves and others felt things could have been a bit better ,especially at that price point .”

“My wife and I visited the Alma Inn along with our dog in early March. As the kids were away we decided to take the dog with us when we went away (normally he'd stay with the kids) and so firstly was thrilled to find a range of options available from Pets Pyjamas. The Alma Inn was perfect - a lovely location and was the perfect setting with the dog in tow (enough of a treat but not so formal as to feel the dog was an imposition). Although the dog wasn't specifically welcomed it was clear that everyone was ready to accept him and the bar area was extremely welcoming for him (and another 4 / 5 in when we visited). We stayed in a superior room which was nicely presented (full of farmhouse charm) and extremely comfortable. We sat in the bar for most of the evening (as I said very welcoming) and had some food in the bar area - food was again exactly what you want classics done really well. My wife and I both had gammon which was very tasty and came with a lovely chilli pineapple salsa. Also a note for the bar snacks - not just your usual bags of crisps....pigs in blankets, cheese fritters, sausage rolls. We had some pigs in blankets which were perfect along with that early evening pint!! Breakfast also very nice. All in all a really cosy, welcoming venue, serving great food and perfect with a dog in tow.”
