“We were given a 1st floor suite but with a very narrow metal spiral staircase to the grounds. We have a big Labrador so not ideal, especially in the early hours with the dog and no lights! People without dogs were below us. Also no pets pyjama package in the room for the dog and no bowls. Also on checking out we were asked to pay in full as Pets PJs hadn’t paid our money to the hotel. It was resolved but my husband had to show proof. Disappointing experience. Later that week we stayed at the Holiday Inn which were brilliant with our dog and very well set up.”

“Our dogs loved charging around the grounds of this hotel and we really enjoyed ourselves too. The bar staff came out to say hello to the dogs and give them a fuss, we felt really welcome.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I gave 4* because of the lack of welcome to my dog - he's a covid dog and there is no way I could have left him in the room by himself. There was an option of room service, which in hindsight we should have chosen for breakfast.

Did you feel your stay was good value for money? yes

“The room was very pet friendly but the dog wasn't allowed in the restaurant which I can understand. We were allowed to take him into the bar area and we also had our evening meal in there. Breakfast - no staff in the bar area so we decided to sit out on the terrace - at the end of January! The food and accommodation though was lovely and the room very warm and clean.”

“We were greeted by very friendly staff and the experience was better than we were expecting. The hotel was clean and comfortable and very warm. The afternoon tea on our arrival was exceptional and so much choice. The complimentary Christmas cake and spa samples were an added bonus. There are nice places to explore nearby...Thank you”

“The hotel has beautiful gardens and grounds, perfect for exercising your pooch! We appreciated being able to bring 2 large dogs (lab/collie X and rough collie). It was good that we did not have to bring them through the main reception as they can bark at strangers. Our room was on the ground floor away from the main building, so perfect for bringing them in and out for toilet breaks. Do bring your own bowls and a blanket to sleep on. The food was good, especially the breakfast buffet, which had everything you could wish for. We will return!”
