We arrived on Saturday the room has damp and the paint is flaking from the wooden beam. The shower plug was blocked and other people’s hair came up from it. The room also was very hot and one of the windows was broken. We now move onto the food which is not worth the money at all. We had steak sandwiches and were very underwhelmed. The breakfast was inedible and the dogs ate the majority. This hotel is not worth visiting at all. The bar was so short staffed that you had to wait a considerable time to even get served.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? It was quite expensive and had the food been better, it would definitely have been worth the money. I would definitely go back, but not take a meal option. And hopefully a room rate would be cheaper as £468 for 2 people for 2 nights (plus dog) for B&B was quite a lot.
Beautiful inn, wonderful friendly staff, really nice room, I like their commitment to the environment/management of staff shortage by offering a drink each in lieu of a room change. Also love that they insist you bring your dog to meals (so dog not left in room protecting their room, but some places don't let you take dogs to meals, even being 'dog friendly'. However the food was average at best. Ate on the first evening and the amazing-sounding macaroni cheese was underwhelming. The eggs royale the following morning had muffins that were so hard I couldn't cut them. My other half gave me his hash brown and it was greasy with almost no potato. Clearly not made to order as it arrived literally in 2 minutes. Maybe less! Perfect for my retriever who could just run from the inn to the lake in 10 seconds, though as a result I don't think she was ever dry the whole weekend!

Very lovely hotel with fabulous grounds but whatever you do get put into rooms 23 or 24 as they are like saunas - we were out there for 5 nights with our dog and could only survive 1 night! Our poor dog was panting all night - the hit staff managed to move us to other rooms but had to move twice so in 3 different rooms over 5 nights. Restaurant was very good and good selection of drinks.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? If staying with your dog I would pack a dog blanket if your dog likes to lie on the bed as the bedding is white. Also a cool bag or similar to store your dog food in the room as there was no fridge in our room.
Great location and hotel. Exceptionally welcoming of dogs and their owners. Plenty of outdoor space for Doris to play and for us to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Dogs are allowed in all areas apart from one restaurant. Would highly recommend to both dog owners and non dog owners.

A really lovely spot with grounds that go down to Lake Coniston. The Coniston Water Sports Centre is a short walk away where the Blue Bird Cafe serves excellent coffee and ice cream and where you can hire boats, canoes and other watercraft or take a leisurely cruise around the lake on the historic steam yacht. Coniston itself is small but has a museum and a handful of shops and pubs. The Coniston Inn has really friendly, welcoming staff and the restaurant serves excellent food - especially the Steak & Ale Pie which is a must for any visitor, although be warned, it's huge (and hugely delicious). The rooms are clean and comfortable. I'd definitely be happy to stay again.

A lovely stay at the Coniston Inn with the wife and two dogs. Room was clean and a bit on the warm side. Food was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Inn itself is situated close to Lake Coniston with a large grass area outside with outdoor seating and tables. A quiet and picturesque location, about a ten minute walk from Coniston village. Definitely consider a return visit some time in the future.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at The Coniston Inn recently. All the members of staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It's set in a wonderful location, Coniston wasn't too busy compared to the hustle and bustle of Ambleside, perfect really and our little dog Buddy loved it. Will be back again some day for sure.
