“This is a beautiful place with great walks straight from the front door. The staff were all delightful and most welcoming of us and our dog. Good food menu and as dog friendly as you could wish for. This was our first stay away with our young dog due to covid and she was quite anxious. The room was very warm because of the weather and twice she went to sleep at night only to be woken after midnight due to other guests banging the front door and walking around upstairs. It's just one of those things in shared hotel accommodation but this left her really on edge and unsettled so we reluctantly had to leave early. Not great with or without a dog but no reflection at all on the hotel who offered everything we could have wished. A learning curve for us in getting her more used to the outside world. Would definitely recommend it to anyone with a dog that is used to being away and wanting beautiful walks in an outstanding location.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Our dogs didn't receive treats as suggested they might and we didn't receive any complimentary sleep pack as advertised

“This is a lovely small hotel and country inn, in a beautiful location. The staff were very nice and welcoming and the accomodation was excellent however, the food we found was not as good as we had hoped. The breakfasts were very nice but the choice and quality of main meals in the evening was not as good as we would have liked for 'home cooked' meals.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The food was fine, lovely wine.. Expensive lager! Lamp needed at dressing table! Room could do with a bit of tlc, old curtains and lighting.. Bit worn and tired. Bed was so comfortable, a very clean room. Breakfast was lovely. Not sure if I'd pay over £18

“Lovely friendly Inn at a beautiful little village, a stones throw away from the start of a great walk up Roseberry topping. Great food and very dog friendly. Will definitely visit again.”

“This was our first stay at a pet friendly hotel and i could not have wished for better. The room was spacious enough for us and the dog and very clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly with Barney ( my dog) The walk was beautiful and challenging. The meal was really nice. I am looking forward to going back. We absolutely loved it.”

“We have just returned from a four day stay with our two dogs Ruby and Milo. The hotel rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant with the dogs and the food and service was great. The staff clearly like being there and were so helpful and kind. We will definitely return.”
