“Relaxed, friendly staff who love dogs, great bar and food, delicious breakfast. Great outdoor space. Right on the harbour and easy walk on to beaches! Very dog friendly.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? You have to queue at the bar for food orders which is an issue with a dog if it busy, and parking limited.

“Very dog friendly. I've never been in a hotel with so many dogs, but not all were social, so be aware. Walks on huge local beaches were fantastic. Not all local historical sites are dog friendly, so worth checking eg Alnwich Castle. There are lovely walks everywhere, however, so very four-paw friendly. My dog is still recovering. The beaches are so very clean and none we found had any dog restrictions, which is a refreshing change. Parking often free, unless at a historic site, when it can be costly.”

“The staff were very friendly and helpful at the hotel. The room was quite small and basic and did not represent any of the rooms we saw on the website prior to booking , the bed was uncomfortable and we did not sleep well and it was very expensive at over £250 per night on bed & breakfast rate. The bathroom had nowhere to place any items, no hooks and was very hot due to the towel rail being on permanently. The bathroom also had a bad smell, as if the pipes were blocked? The only advantage was that we booked a garden room for our dog which was good. However we decided to cut our losses and did not stay the 4th night we booked and paid for, deciding to cut our losses. The food was mostly fried only options and did not appeal, so we ate out on the 3rd night's stay. We were also disappointed that there was very little parking available to guests yet the staff were able to park there, therefore restricting guests ability to park. Unfortunately we would not look to stay here again.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I pressed 4 stars by mistake. It’s a 3 from us.

“A nostalgia trip, last here in the late 70’s, yes, I know, times change. Nothing at all wrong with the contents and decor of our room, in fact it had everything you would wish for, the daily offer to exchange towels/clean room was a bonus. But the personal touch has all but gone in this hotel. An open to the public, national chain style restaurant was far from what we remembered, and the hunt for someone at the bar/reception for information wasn’t too impressive. We stayed in the extension/annexe and here in lies the number one issue. In all my years, I can’t remember adjoining bedroom walls that were so thin. So thin in fact, we had the pleasure of hearing, with SurroundSound clarity, our next door neighbours nightly conversations as if the were at the end of our bed. As I said, we did come here in the glory years, and in the past those great memories will remain.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? All in all it was a nice place. I wouldn’t go back there though and the costs definitely need to be reviewed. I was expecting a lot more for the money paid.

“Perfect location and the room was spotless. Everything you need is right by and the restaurant was great, really nice food and the prices aren’t bad considering. It was really busy and the staff did their best but were run a little ragged. It was a Saturday night to be fair so not sure if it is always like that. The rooms were hot, and I mean hot! No way to turn the radiator down either. It was also hot in the restaurant but not as bad as the rooms.”
