Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I can highly recommend the Talbot with the one small caveat regarding the time of the year and temperature.
We have stayed at the Talbot before with our dog. We enjoyed the experience and decided to stay again The hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and the food is good. It was an exceptionally warm weekend as a result of this our ground floor room was very hot. We had the use of a fan but a stand alone air conditioner would have helped much more. I would definitely go back but probably either earlier or later in the year to avoid the hottest months.

5* as everyone and everything was top notch at the Talbot Hotel. We were spoilt with the weather on our stay so that also helped our experience. The breakfast was also 5*

This was our second visit to The Talbot and every bit as good as we remembered from last year! The staff were very welcoming to us and our 2 Irish Setters - they got lots of treats. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent, plenty of choice all freshly cooked and delicious. We had to change our dates at short notice due to a medical appointment and they were happy to arrange this. Good weather and lots of lovely walks, but if you head to Ashton, note that the Chequered Skipper has now closed, so take a picnic and enjoy the lovely village green - just beware of the very inquisitive peacocks!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Dog Waste Bins should be provided asap.
Very nice hotel with a good central location. Very Dog friendly but we felt to cater for Dogs it lacks a big enough garden so the Dogs have to weave around the tables and chairs to relieve themselves which is far from ideal. There are no Dog Waste bins anywhere around the hotel or town either. In fact there were hardly any general waste bins anywhere which makes disposal extremely difficult. All in all a lovely hotel but not ideal for Dogs.

Nice hotel, full of character. Friendly staff but very slow service at breakfast and lunch. However the lunch and cream tea was delicious.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? If your dog is likely to be disturbed by noise ask for a room away from the courtyard - they will do their best to oblige.
We had a fabulous 3 nights at The Talbot. We were given a nice big room, plenty of space for us and the 2 dogs. There was a toy and bag of treats for both of them and a plate of sausages at breakfast one day! All the staff are very dog friendly and for humans the food is great at breakfast and dinner. Oundle itself is a lovely town with some fine buildings and there are any number of walks along the River Nene, both direct from the hotel and in the surrounding villages (Fotheringhay and Woodnewton are particularly good.) An excellent weekend, we were lucky with the weather too, can't think of anything which would have improved it.
